  1. Thanks, some of your work may have inspired me to try something different.
  2. I have the inline 6 built as stock, but got to poking through my stash last night. Found the 37 Chevy salt flats racer has an inline 6 with several performance parts. The overall length is different for sure, would need to fab some sort of driveshaft extension. I am not sure I would want to try to remove the molded in driveshaft from the wagon chassis. Still not sure about the engine. I'll keep poking at the interior and getting the body ready for paint and stew on it a little.
  3. That service truck looks great also. I've got a complete 34 and the parts kit. You've got me thinking one of my other pickups is going to be converted into a wrecker.
  4. Been waiting for an update on this one. The wait was worth it. Looks great. Has the gears in my head turning for sure. I picked up one of those 34 fords at HL as an open box. Its missing the wheels, tires and glass, but a trove of great parts.
  5. Very nice build. My wife would drive a car that color every day, and twice on sundays.
  6. That's the Hemi drag engine from the kit. I am building up the straight 6, but not set on engine choice yet. When I worked at a Cadillac dealer, we worked on a lot of cars that had more show than go, I may opt for that on this build.
  7. Great looking car, love the color.
  8. Thanks.
  9. That is really coming together nicely. You sure worked on that hood scoop enough. I like that you went with the scoop versus just a hole in the hood. Looking forward to seeing it in paint.
  10. This will be first ever WIP thread. Hopefully I remember to take pictures along the way. I work on models in fits and spurts, so there may be a few days between updates. I am building the AMT 63 Chevy II wagon. I am working on using the custom wheels and tires from the Revell 65 stepside Chevy. I had to add pieces of sprue inside to make new "hubs" for the kit metal axles. This is my first go at anything other than an OOB build. Mocked up, I think I am happy with the stance.
  11. Awesome detail work.
  12. Here's the spray "booth" I just built in my shop, in a basement. I used a marine bilge blower. Designed to move gasoline and other fuel vapors. Runs off a 12v DC power supply. The blower cost about 35 bucks, same with the power supply. A little wiring and ducting. No smell at all in the shop. Not noisy enough to bother the wife upstairs.
  13. I got my tiny drill bit set from Micro Mark. Maybe I will finally get those danged spotlights on the Supernatural build.
  14. Grew up on hair bands, love nu metal. But sometimes I just have to hear some Peter Cetera, Richard Marx, Roxette and the like.
  15. That weathering looks great. Nice job.
  16. That looks great. An indoor booth is a great asset to have.
  17. Got another trailer roughed together. This one is from the AMT 63 Chevy II wagon kit. Also working on modifying the custom wheels from the Revell 65 stepside Chevy truck to fit the Chevy II wagon. Should look low. This is my first attempt at anything other than OOB.
  18. I understood the entire Model Master line was completely gone.
  19. I love where you are taking this build. The dually rear end really fills up those flares. And satin green paint always looks good weathered.
  20. Got the main color on the drag trailer. Plan is to weather it up a bit. This will be my first try at weathering.
  21. Stopped back in the variety store to get the wife a birthday card and somehow this followed me home.
  22. Looks like a good unit. I just installed a booth in the basement shop and I love having the ability to paint indoors with no fumes, overspray, etc.
  23. I love them. As someone just too young to have lived through that era, they are priceless for replicating the look of those days.
  24. Those pictures are very cool. Definitely some inspiration for builds in there.
