  1. Good luck! Can’t wait to see it!
  2. @atomicholiday Here’s a close up. The front suspension piece on mine isn’t sitting right, because I glued the steering rack to the suspension first before glueing the suspension to the frame. The steering rack kept the suspension from sitting square/level so now the front right wheel doesn’t quite touch the ground. Hope this helps!
  3. Here’s all of mine! There’s no model kit of a Hyundai Ioniq so I built this Pony in the same colors. I sold the Miata and Mustang but I still have the other two.
  4. Looks great! I’m currently working on the same kit! Took me a while to find a decent kit on eBay, and I eventually bought old copies of all of the tuner series kits. I built the Civic and Integra coupes as a teen when these kits were new. Revell definitely needs to release all of these again. The Eclipse and 6th gen Civic coupe have been released recent-ish as Fast and the Furious movie tie-ins, and are already expensive because of the movies. But the Integra, RSX, 5th gen Civic coupe, 6th gen Civic Hatch, and WRX haven’t been released in a long time. Revell, us Millennials are nostalgic for our generation’s cars and old kits too!
  5. @Stef I built the ‘82 Cavalier a couple years ago, got it cheap from eBay at the time. They’ve started getting expensive too. I wouldn’t mind doing another, it was my first build returning to the hobby after 15 years and my skills have vastly improved. I’d love to a full custom build of it with those crazy wide body fenders. And put me down for one of those Escorts!
  6. I built the older Omni 024 version last year, with the stock non-turbo engine. I recall the driveshafts being tricky to align with the suspension and transmission. The hood also doesn’t fit great, and the custom front tires stick outside the fenders a little too much. I’ve been wanting the later Shelby Charger to go with my 024 so I’m excited for this one! Now I just need Round2 or Revell to repop a Fiero kit… and the Ford EXP.
  7. @atomicholiday Yes same kit! Mine did not come with any mirror glass. I just filled the mirror cavities with a Molotow chrome pen.
  8. Looks great! I built this one earlier this year to match my 1:1.
  9. I finally have an acceptable black paint job on this Cobra! It’s not without blemishes here and there but I’m happy enough with it. It’s been polished out with Tamiya Fine, and Finish polishes. Next up I’ll be taping the body off to spray the window and roof trim, mirrors and cowl in flat black. I’m excited to get this one over the finish line.
  10. Here’s my AMT 1971 Coca-Cola Shorty Beetle! I have several Coke kits in the stash that will likely not get Coke livery, so I figured I should do at least one with Coke graphics. It was fun picking out which decals to use from this kit’s huge selection of wild “Unity Collection” decals. I love how you can make the body removable so you can see the dune buggy chassis. The red is Krylon’s Apple Red. The kit includes a stock-ish VW dashboard, but the instructions don’t mention where it goes (I think you’re supposed to glue it into the body, but I don’t know how you’d align the steering shaft properly). I cut it down and glued it to the tubular dash structure to give the interior more detail. I could not get those fragile individual exhaust tubes to align properly so I gave up and left them off. The Coke crate comes from the Dodge D-50 Coke kit. The body is painted Testors Extreme Lacquer “Bronze” with the inserts done in Tamiya TS75 “Champagne Gold”. Part fit up is not great. The fragile roll bars are a nightmare to align, the chassis/front suspension ended up warped and the engine cover won’t close. I cut the generator belt/pulleys off and shaved their mounts down to pull it closer to the engine. Both hoods are glued shut. Overall this was a fun kit to build despite its foibles, with lots of customization opportunities. I picked up another one cheap from Ollies that will get a whole different look (eventually).
  11. @Chuck Most Thanks for the good luck and the reference photos! I looked over the parts of both kits when I got them and nothing jumped out as badly warped… but I didn’t try fitting anything together so hopefully they’re not too bad.
  12. Ok I’ve had the exact same project in mind for about a year now. I picked up the same Mobius service truck and the Model King camper and ramp bed set a while ago. I was even thinking of doing it in turquoise or light blue! You’ve inspired me to get started on it, yours looks great! (I’m planning to put the service bed on a 10th gen F150 so don’t steal that idea too?)
  13. Another quick update: engine bay is now complete with decals. Along with the interior. I painted interior in Tamiya NATO black for a more charcoal-black look with primer black carpet and some of the trim in Tamiya flat black acrylic. I test fit the body. I will need to shave the firewall down a little because the front half of the body isn’t sitting down quite right. Preview with the top in place. I still need to sand the body down and reshoot another top coat. I think I can get away with not stripping it down to bare plastic. It doesn’t look too bad in pictures but I can do better. I’m excited to get this one done!
  14. Nah it will be triple black!
  15. I haven’t forgotten about this build! I got the engine and chassis detailed and assembled. I’m still summoning the motivation to finish the body paint job but it’s going to happen soon.
  16. Here’s my build of the recent Craftsman Plus release of the ‘63 Nova wagon. I picked this kit up cheap from Ollie’s and figured it would be a quick build to practice bare metal foil on. My last and only other car I’ve foiled was a ‘57 Chevy… and while this Nova turned out well, I still don’t enjoy foiling. ? If you’re trying foiling out for the first time, this is a great kit for it because the trim details are super crisp and it’s easy to cut the foil cleanly. The body is painted Tamiya TS45 Pearl White over grey primer and the interior is Rustoleum Apple Red. The pearl white looks more silvery/dove grey in person over that grey primer than a pearl white but I think it looks good with the red interior. The roof on that ‘57 is the same TS45 pearl white, but over white primer.
  17. @Yeah Nah My childhood was the Pierce Brosnan era so those hold a special place in my heart (“The World Is Not Enough” is the earliest one I saw in theaters). But “Diamonds Are Forever” is definitely one of my favorite Bond films, right behind Goldfinger!
  18. My slowly growing, every-Mustang-generation collection! It’s a little Fox heavy right now…
  19. Now that Revell has made the MPC/AMT ‘71-‘73 Mustang kits obsolete… here’s my AMT 007 Mustang Mach 1! I left most of the kit’s inaccuracies intact, and built it as-is out of box. I did fill in the hood vent though. Body and interior are painted Rustoleum Gloss Apple Red over Tamiya pink primer with Krylon semigloss Black for the lower body. Cleared with Pledge floor gloss. I mistakenly glued the firewall to the interior tub and didn’t notice until final assembly. It should be glued into the body shell, further forward. I had to trim the firewall sides down to get the glued chassis and tub into the body. I managed to make the grossly inaccurate engine bay even worse! Exterior shots: Companion shots:007 Mach 1 with Supernatural Impala‘71 Fastback with ‘66 Coupe’71 Fastback with ‘94 Convertible Thanks for looking!
  20. I’ve made some progress, primed the body in pink to help cover the red plastic parts. At this point I was still leaning towards red or yellow but I decided to go with black. I should have done another primer coat in gray or black, because my black gloss coat didn’t flow into the body seams so now there’s pink showing through. I’ll try a black wash in the seams to cover it I guess?I’ll have to wet sand and do another color coat anyway so we’ll see how it goes. I might have to strip this one and start over. But I’m loving the triple black look so I’ll see it through!I did prime the chassis in gray and gave it a black overspray coat. Interior, chassis and drivetrain parts are painted and curing in the dehydrator. Detail painting to come!
  21. Same here, I’ve been looking casually for a while but haven’t won one yet…
  22. You gotta keep the factory wheels! They set off the rad ‘80s look of the Fiero so well in my opinion.
  23. Quick update: wheels are done. I’m going with full chrome even though I don’t think it’s factory… just a simple black wash in the lug nut holes. I’m using the Goodyear Eagle tires from my O.G. release over the new Ollie’s special, since the new kit tires have no sidewall detail.
  24. @mustang1989 Hmm I might try black after all. I haven’t had the best luck with black in the past but it’s worth another try.
  25. I thought about it, but a member here did this kit in that color a couple years ago so I want to do it in a different color.
