There were so many building tips that anyone can take away from that thread and adapt to their own build it’s amazing. I’m grateful to @tim boyd @Dennis Lacy @Kit Karson @Rocking Rodney Rat @alan barton and others for sharing their tips and ideas as it has given me so much to work with in terms of ideas for my own build.

This is a build that has been stuck in my head for over a year now, very heavily inspired by the Boyd tribute thread. But with a little more Bullybeef flavour. I’ll be starting with the Molded in red 80’s version and inspired by the box art from the 65 release. The stance from that release is just killer. I have a mock up started and will start soon. I won’t be using the stock banger 4 as it deserves an 8. It will be blue oval powered and that is a definite. Just have not decided on which engine yet. I am still gathering parts. Because this is still in the planning stages I yet to decide on full showrod look or a well used high school hot rod custom with some age marks.

Jim I’ve researched them a fair bit, as you may have seen I do like a fine ford flathead engine lol. I start with the plug wire and strip off a small section of the sheathing, cut two lengths of scale 2 1/4 heater hose, put them on a tip of one of my dentist picks, heat them slightly to get a bend and then let them cool, put the plug wire in and apply a small drop of cyanoacrylate glue.

I’m really liking that shade of blue.

1960’s Traditional Blown ‘23 T Bucket UPDATE 10/31/22
Bullybeef replied to Dennis Lacy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I’ve been nursing along a bottlE of jet exhaust for a while as well. Have yet to find a paint to match it up with. nice progress on the bucket. Are the exhaust pipes from the amt parts pack chev? -
Thank for the kind words Carl, I’d like to upgrade the bench to something that has more storage options, this is just an old office table. I’ll keep the two tone option in mind. I’m kinda going for almost show car vibe.

With the exception of 5 survivors, that is my sun total of two years worth of building. So at the end of my Sunday this is where I am… Sadly the interior will need a few touch ups and the installation of the window cranks. The frame and suspension are complete, just need to add the steering linkage. Then I may actually do the plug wires.

Looks like a lower grille trim/ support piece maybe behind the bumper?
-
New shot of primer on the body, so far no “major” flaws in my Body work. Im pretty happy with the colour choice it has a very nice 60’s vibe, hope to have the interior finished this evening.

Trying so hard to stay focused on this, desk was a mess so I cleaned it, I think my body is trying to procrastinate about the plug wires!
-
Dennis that is a work of beauty right there.

Had a complete squirrel moment last night, and decided that it was time to clean and rearrange my display cabinet.then after that was done I got back to work on the engine. I’m on the fence of adding details or just building it semi out of the box ??♂️

I fully agree on that sentiment, I think the only one that fits nicely is the roadster . I’ve spent a fair amount of time working those seams to look good.
-
The bench is a stock amt 34 piece? I’ll go with ease of install for this one.
-
The only one I knew of was in an Amt parts pack, last release that I know of was the model king deal.
-
Allison would be perfect, I’ve been trying to figure out what to put one in for years lol.
-
It could very well be Paul. And the bench is staying. onto the engine work and a quasi teaser of colour.
-
Too bad you aren’t closer, I have more engines than I know what to put them in lol. I build them occasionally as semi slump busters. Quick n easy haha. Make a custom V16 Hemi!!
-
Flathead v12 from the monogram Lincoln would fit nicely
-
Found this interior tub in my bins, no idea what it came from but it fits not that the floor pan has been separated, buckets seem very 70’s so I think I’ll stick with the bench.

Ok, not that we have the ride height and wheels a little more centered, I can get back to the details again.
