  1. Well here is we were at the end of the day yesterday. This is stock height, you could run over the neighbours dog and not even hit it. This will not work! Time to raid… be back soon.
  2. Thank you David, it was a fun and challenging build.
  3. Just beautiful! Someday I’ll have a crack at a cabriolet 33/34
  4. I’m not a fan of that grille at all, so that will be a no from me. Well that’s good to learn, thank you and sorry for making you jealous haha Yeah I’m looking at the later flatheads for sure. Still not 100% on the wheels n tires but I am at least 75% sold on them.
  5. Well I’m happy to say that this one is finally complete enough to show. If you followed the build thread you will see the progress of converting the amt 29 roadster to a 31 roadster. There was an enormous amount of scratch building (the entire interior) I really stretched my building abilities with this one. it will acquire a special place in my cabinets, amongst the other 1:1 replicas I’ve made. Thanks for the support and encouragement along the way. As usual all comments are welcome.
  6. As I progress I’ll show my work, so far nothing new to report with the exception of possibly switching to a Revell 37 ford frame, it needs a bit of pinching and a tad shortening.
  7. Oh boy oh boy oh boy! I’m kinda really excited about this one if you could not already tell. Having already completed a 33 3 window coupe the natural progression would be to follow it up with a 34 right. I’ll start with a the same formula as the last and start with the old Revell snapper body and hack off the horribly short nose( some people like small noses, but no not I), the longer the snout the cooler it shall be. Next we will mix in some amt parts for the frame and suspension, I’ve already started filling in the gaps and dimples as we want a reallly smooth frame. Engine will be a hopped up flathead, no Ardun this time as I want to use the hood sides. lastly I haven’t fully decided yet but maybe the wheels n tires from the lil coffin. A lot of the parts for this build are parts bin survivors and I have no real idea of their heritage. I’ll continue to raid the bins for cool parts to add to this. I have not found an actual 1:1 car to replicate this time so it will be seat of the pants and purely from the grey matter inside this old noggin.
  8. Well you are off to a great start. Keep plugging away.
  9. Next update should be Under Glass, thank you all that followed along and commented. Moral support helps these projects get finished.
  10. Just started this kit, yours turned out beautifully, I’m finding that a lot of prep is required for these old kits, but that aside I’m hoping mine turns out half as good as yours.
  11. Nice start on this, I just cracked open mine this evening and will be dropping the hemi from the Miss deal stude in. This will be my first dragster build so I’m really excited to see how it will turn out.
  12. Well if you like you can add me with a 31 roadster flathead v8 of you like
  13. Not quite finished yet, still some touch up rust to add. Seems like every piece I add I have to spend at least an hour to weather it to match the rest of the car lol
  14. Wow, just found this thread and I’m amazed at the variety of builds in here. Wish I’d known about this earlier I could have plunked my Hinman roadster build down here.
  15. Add new parts, make them look like old and rusty parts. Well we are getting closer and closer to the end. It may not look like much has changed but there is another 3 hours of work done here.
  16. Here we are us normal modellers marvelling at simply making a hinge work, and you over there making the freaking poppers to open the freaking trunk! Great work sir.
  17. Well dang Bernard that is some really great progress. I love the halibrand wheels n tires they really add to the look of that car. Not going to lie, nice to see a flathead as well. Can’t wait to see the final pictures.
  18. Thank you sir, working on perfection of the rust is no mean feat, but after growing up on on island In the Atlantic I do know rust.
  19. Banging together a tribute to the Monogram little deuce, using unpainted plastic from the parts bins. I can’t remember where I acquired so many of the monogram deuce pieces. The only bit I do not have is another iconic grille insert.
  20. You had me at australopithicene mitt!! ???
  21. Thank you, it’s taken some time to get the hang of weathering again, last time I really did any amount of it was in the eighties. Thank you triple R. I’m happy for all the positive feedback, it’s rather nice to be getting some notice of this build. Haha, some of the details of the actual car have been a bit challenging to replicate, I’m doing the best that I can with the skill set I have, thankfully the palsey shake from my hands has been treatable and I’m still able to continue modelling. Just need to get over the January blues hump and get this one finished. Thank you all for the continued interest and the newfound interest in this project. I’ll do my best to get the final details sorted and show some more progress.
  22. I feel you there, I have had very little motivation to spend at the bench, the January blues hit hard lol. I can’t wait for a proper phaeton. Pic added for motivation.
  23. Thank you, it’s been a fun but challenging at times build Neither were intentional the sometimes downfall of using 40-50 year old parts lol. Looks like the real deal would have been a fun ride. thanks gents. little update for the day, trying to make the iconic seat cushions
