  1. Thank you everyone, I’m just waiting for the molotow chrome to season a bit before I do a final clear coat.
  2. Mostly empty, and the heat is barely on.
  3. The clean work area was a late Sunday revamp. It needed it badly lol
  4. I didn’t have the box
  5. Tamiya TS-52 over a base coat of TS-88
  6. No foil, it’s paint!
  7. I’ve had this kit in the stash for almost a year! I threw the suspension together with the custom wheels from the Amt 62 thunderbird and I like the mock-up so much that I decided to build it. I’ll let the pics do the rest of the talking
  8. This is going far past the mock-up stage and I love it.
  9. Tom Please do this justice and finish it!
  10. I’ve seen the trans adapter in two different kits… I have both. I’m currently using one on a flathead with a cad lasalle gearbox. I should get back to that build.
  11. Thanks Dennis, we will see once I start throwing putty at it if it looks any better lol. I have a little metal tub on my desk full of assorted off cuts, sometimes you only need a little piece to make it work. ?? next is to make the adapter plate look a little better.
  12. Thank you, I’ve done a fair bit of hacking and slashing to try to get the approximate shape correct. some filler will help correct the shape hopefully a little more, it won’t be a perfect replica, but it will be close enough to keep me satisfied.
  13. So I started out with the trans from the chev engine, cut it free from the bell housing, and trimmed the tail shaft off. So it has some of the basic shape as the Lasalle but it’s not close enough. So let’s cut off that shifter tower. A little help from my Stone Age CAD. And we get the rough shape of the bottom cover. Add the tail shaft housing from the flathead trans and is starting to take shape.
  14. Still playing with ride height and wheel choices. I like the steelies but they are in really rough shape. Getting closer on the lasalle gearbox, I should have some pics of it soon.
  15. I think that you are improving on the original, but that is only my opinion.
  16. Some hacking and slashing from the parts bins has brought this to light, 36 cowl and doors, 37 fenders and rear body, 39 roof section. it needs a lot of smoothing and refinement but I think it will be one worth going further with.
  17. Dan, have you done any more work on this? I’m liking the beginning a lot.
  18. Impressive work on the trim Greg.
  19. Well dang, guess I’m gonna have to chop the seat down a bit lol
  20. Thank you sir, I hope in its final form it will meet my vision. Thank you. I think the kit tires are a bit too 70’s for my liking and those bias plys look killer with the flathead. I’d almost like to have a set of cheater pie crust slicks for the rear.
