Bullybeef replied to Dennis Lacy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
@Dennis Lacy that engine came out excellent. I was floored on the neatness of the plug wires, then I zoomed in haha. Paint detail is top notch sir! -
I have a better survivor version of the red chariot. The black one could be restored.

Went to visit a local friend he said he had some of those ugly cars that I like. there are a couple of neat survivors there, most of it is pure glue bomb junk, but I had fun digging through his bins for all this treasure. A vast majority I will possibly trade off.

Haven’t bought much lately, but with my current build this was a had to have purchase 1/8 scale ardun heads, late flathead side mount distributer, triple strombergs, finned frogmouth air scoops and a vertex magneto! Did I spend to much?….yes! Did I have to have them?… absofriggenloutly!

I look forward to all these extra details being put together in the finale. Well executed@Dennis Lacy -
Thanks, I got lucky with this kit. Started working on the x frame bracing tonight, lots of CAD (cardboard assisted design) and measuring holy heck the measuring lol. I need to get this step perfect so that the boxing of the frame rails goes without a hitch. Trying to build this as if it was the real steel deal.

Who doesn't love a mock-up? Let's see yours!
Bullybeef replied to Belairconvertable's topic in WIP: Model Cars
It’s an old issue Amt kit, I guess it may be the angle, the hood is on, but the trunk lid has fallen, and now looking at the picture versus sitting in front of it, I can see the profile change and yes it does look very sleek even with a stock height roofline! -

Got another storage viewing case from work, it’s perfect as I can park them up in the multi storey and change them up and see how the look strikes me! It’s on my build table so I can see it. @BobbyGthat grille looks just like one from a 77 VW GTi -
A week n purple pond, now what?
Bullybeef replied to OldTrucker's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I’ve been using Windex for stripping chrome, usually after a couple of hours the chrome is gone and the varnish, while still on can be scrubbed off with a toothbrush ( I buy the hard bristle type for this) -
Nice to see you back at this one!
