  1. Tamiya TS-52 over a base coat of TS-88
  2. No foil, it’s paint!
  3. I’ve had this kit in the stash for almost a year! I threw the suspension together with the custom wheels from the Amt 62 thunderbird and I like the mock-up so much that I decided to build it. I’ll let the pics do the rest of the talking
  4. This is going far past the mock-up stage and I love it.
  5. Tom Please do this justice and finish it!
  6. I’ve seen the trans adapter in two different kits… I have both. I’m currently using one on a flathead with a cad lasalle gearbox. I should get back to that build.
  7. Thanks Dennis, we will see once I start throwing putty at it if it looks any better lol. I have a little metal tub on my desk full of assorted off cuts, sometimes you only need a little piece to make it work. ?? next is to make the adapter plate look a little better.
  8. Thank you, I’ve done a fair bit of hacking and slashing to try to get the approximate shape correct. some filler will help correct the shape hopefully a little more, it won’t be a perfect replica, but it will be close enough to keep me satisfied.
  9. So I started out with the trans from the chev engine, cut it free from the bell housing, and trimmed the tail shaft off. So it has some of the basic shape as the Lasalle but it’s not close enough. So let’s cut off that shifter tower. A little help from my Stone Age CAD. And we get the rough shape of the bottom cover. Add the tail shaft housing from the flathead trans and is starting to take shape.
  10. Still playing with ride height and wheel choices. I like the steelies but they are in really rough shape. Getting closer on the lasalle gearbox, I should have some pics of it soon.
  11. I think that you are improving on the original, but that is only my opinion.
  12. Some hacking and slashing from the parts bins has brought this to light, 36 cowl and doors, 37 fenders and rear body, 39 roof section. it needs a lot of smoothing and refinement but I think it will be one worth going further with.
  13. Dan, have you done any more work on this? I’m liking the beginning a lot.
  14. Impressive work on the trim Greg.
  15. Well dang, guess I’m gonna have to chop the seat down a bit lol
  16. Thank you sir, I hope in its final form it will meet my vision. Thank you. I think the kit tires are a bit too 70’s for my liking and those bias plys look killer with the flathead. I’d almost like to have a set of cheater pie crust slicks for the rear.
  17. Well with a channeled body and a z’ed cut in the rear there was no way the original floor pan was going to fit. And because of the x bracing just shortening it wasn’t gonna be the answer. Sooo a sectioning was gonna have to happen, I’m trying to use as much of the kit materiel as possible here. the first photo is a Lie. and after mocking it all up again, I realized two things: 1. I need to Bob the rear rails about 9mm to get the body to sit level again. 3. This thing is huuuuge!
  18. Thanks Bill, I’m enjoying this one as well, even though the progress is painfully slow lol. Nothing better than old school CAD. If it works don’t fix it. I need to add some detail for the crank snout housing as the caster of the resin omitted that detail. I need to visit my hobby store to get some bigger styrene, my supply was based on only building in 1/25 scale lol. Cheers
  19. That’s the colour I was hoping you were going with! Can’t wait to see it.
  20. Finally after a long week at work I finally got some time to work on the big ole Deuce engine. Had to add some materiel to the block to accept the water pumps, a little masking tape template and here we are. installed the valley pan cover and the front distributer mount, as well as the exhaust block block offs, these resin parts have some great detail and very little prep work is required. Follow up with the heads and valve train covers and this engine is looking sweet.
