  1. The 260/289 Cobra Roadsters and coupes were built off the early AC leaf spring chassis's. The 427 roadsters had updated frames and suspensions, built to withstand the increase in HP and torque of the 427's, which included coil sprung suspensions.
  2. The cobras were only "transverse" in the sense of which way the springs pointed. They were more like "1/4 Elliptic" springs. They WERE leaf springs, but were clamped in the middle, and they acted as the springs and the upper control arms, with corresponding "A" frames as the bottom links, and hydraulic dampeners, (shocks) The early IRS Corvettes were opposite of the that, in that the spring was on the bottom, with the control arms on the top, with shocks. The Corvettes had regular uneven control arms with coil springs and hydraulic dampeners up front

  10. Great start Josh!. I should have saved for a few more months and bought one of these instead of the Gunze.. Oh well, A lot of your trials will certainly help with my Gunze Build.

  12. Thanks for all the recommendations and comments. I went ahead and got a set of the motobitz and a set of the fireballs on the way. can't have too many wheels and tires.. of course right after I placed my orders it dawned on me the AMT Sunbeam has a set as well....now to find a Sunbeam at a decent price...
  13. I have the recent re-issue of the full fendered "Super 7 Series II" with the narrow steel wheels.. I think these from motobitz is what I want..
  14. Those look great! But are they too wide for the Tamiya Lotus 7?
  15. I meant to say YES he has some I would like.. as I said, the Fireball's are too wide for the standard Lotus 7
  16. Do we know of anybody that produces the 4 lug 13 in Minilites for the Re-issued Tamiya Lotus Super 7?? I know Fireball has the 8 and 10 in ones, but they seem a bit too wide for the stock fenders.. Thanks in advance!
