  1. Awesome stuff!! I been collecting AMT Cobra's for about 40 years, finally, in my retirement getting around to building a few, and a hauler to haul em with. You all are VERY inspirational. Hope to have some stuff to show soon.. I NEED those hardtops!! lol, and an original set of decals... I snag any Cady decals I find, (That I don't already have) and early parts kits for the wheels. I never noticed how different the wires were between the early kits and newer ones.. Heck, I've even bought a few builtups. Wish the early AMT Mustangs had some more realistic Shelby parts. Oh well.. I'm kind of a sucker for all things Shelby, met him for about a minute years ago at a car event in Northern CA. Quite a character.
  2. yep, same kit, different package...
  3. Actually, if you're careful, you can carve the grille opening down to fit the 289 grille and just have to fill in a bit along the bottom. It is not perfect by any means, but it is another body in 1/25 to monkey with. It does show how much RoG does NOT care about American subjects. 1962 Cobra....right..
  4. Found this by way of ebay and google. It does look like the Sunny/AMT Cobra. Neat box, hopefully some decent decals... Follow the link.. it is clean! 289 Cobra
  5. What a spectacular treasure trove of photos!! Thanks Mike!!
  6. Thanks Rex. I meant no disrespect, it just gets frustrating. I got a list about a mile long of "frustrating"... I'll try calling him tomorrow..
  7. last place I saw the transkit was Modeler's Warehouse. https://www.modelbuilderswh.com/ I emailed Harold Bradford a month ago, got no response. Kind of a shame really, all I really want to do is give somebody some money, but I can't even get an email responded to.. I have a half dozen of those AMT kits, AND 3 of the Sunny kits.. all I need is a hardtop... or 2
  8. sure would like to find a hardtop for the AMT body. I've emailed a couple guys to no avail, even asked here before, Somebody has to have one they'd sell...
  9. great all around!! Liking them tanks! could use a couple for a project I got going..
  10. WOW!! Got to be some WILD stories about this car..
  11. Thanks Gerry.. I'd think it would be pretty big news..
  12. I just got a letter from him about some decals, was mailed 13 June. I too would like to know. @Exotics_Builder, any insight? Is Fred OK?
  13. I sure wish they'd re-issue the 70's Bronco "Wild Hoss". Can't help but think they'd sell a bunch, especially if they put em in retail assortments, or paired 'em with the old service trailer. Or an assortment kit with both trailers, and PLEASE find the ramps for the little trailer in the multi car sets, (Cobra, Piranha.) Maybe the Open Road Camper and or wedge hauler. Just thinking out loud..
  14. Wow.. I can almost smell the bearing grease.... Amazing..
  15. The decals came from the AMT 3 car set, with the Cobra, 1953 Ford pickup, and the tiltbed trailer..
  16. well that looks like it was fun!! Nice job Ray!
  17. Nicely done. I forgot how much I like that kit, you did a great job with it..
  18. That's pretty close. looks like a good fit.
  19. Yeah Scott, I think if you knock a bit more that an 1/8" off the bottom of the F series seat, you'll get pretty close. Your picture above gives a good idea of where the seat back height should be.. I just didn't want to cut all my parts up yet to see where everything needed to be. The F-100 seat needs to be just a bit narrower also, to set down into the tub. I don't have one of the AMT's to check, it might drop right in..
  20. I also checked the AMT 69 Galaxie. you could probably cut the back seat out and use it, IF you have one laying around, but they gettin a bit pricey. I think the answer is one of the full size Ford or Chev/GM pickups
  21. here's the 69 Moebius bench seat in a C-600 tub. It's a little wide, and the pattern isn't quite right, but a little fiddlin' and it should work fine, probably means the AMT 70's Ford pickup seat would work as well, with a little fiddlin'..
  22. I just started the same build, but I started without the aid of that wonderful line drawing. I did it the old fashioned way, I started with pics of the exoto 1/43 scale diecast, my calipers, and a calculator. I think I like your way better! Good luck with the build!!
