  1. Nicely done! you sure knock em out, eh??
  2. That's perfect, although I did have to dig out my calipers to change to inches. lol. looks like those will fit readily available tires. That's REAL helpful. Again, AWESOME stuff, Bill!
  3. Great stuff, Bill. I know where some money's going the first of the month.. Can you tell us what the O.D. of the wheels is. my truck wheels assortment is sorely lacking..
  4. nicely done! gave me some ideas!
  5. nice clean detailing! Great work!!
  6. yeah, I can see rookieresin.com is gonna get some of my money. Thanks Bill.
  7. Yeah, Please put me down for a 68 when they are ready..
  8. cool project. in the 70's, one of the drag kit car manufacturers, that specialized in "econo-altered" cars, created a cobra body for their altered frames so the cars could run in "heads-up" door slammer classes like Super/Gas, and I can't find ANY mention of them anywhere. they were a lot like the blue one you referenced above, driver seated left, lengthened wheelbase at the cowl to match the frame, and the cockpit was a little bit forward to clear the taller tires and suspension. I think it was "Brodie" race cars, but they don't seem to exist anymore. At the time I really wanted to build a real one. I think the bare frame and body was only around 10 grand. but alas, I was about 30 grand short.. haha. Great project, I'll be watching...
  9. Wow, just Wow... Love that period of Race cars.. Nice collection
  10. Wow Dann, That's amazing!!
  11. Man JC. Where do you find this stuff?? awesome job on the Falcon(s). I've learned so much watching your builds.
  12. to build an FIA you need to re-shape the grille. The Sunny doesn't look bad if it's lowered, but Bill's right. it's definitely a 427 "TYPE" body on a 289 chassis. But it is the only 1/25th scale approximation out there..
  13. The Sunny kit is basically the old AMT 289 Cobra with a new body. It is 1/25th scale. It has the AMT 289 with different headers. A little kitbashing with a good big block and some better wheels and tires does give a fairly good representation of a 427 in 1/25th scale, but the kit retains the leaf spring suspension. It is a fairly nice 427 style body though.. If you do a search on the forum for "Sunny 427 Cobra" there are a few builds.
  14. I'm liking this a lot!! sure wish I could find a bunch of those T-Bolt style rear bars...
  15. NICE!! It's amazing how one little detail can tie everything together... Great job!
  16. Nice start. are you going to dress the motor up a bit to look like a Dodge Wedge? Maybe at least put the distributor in the front? Your build looks like you got the look nailed. GREAT job!!
  17. As silly as this may sound, this type of attention to detail is what makes ME try to build better models. Sometimes I yearn to just build something, but seeing work like this makes me want to try new things. SEEING it get done is a great help to that end. Thank You for taking the time to take us on this journey with you..
  18. I found the post on Trak. very interesting...
  19. That came out great!!
  20. amazing, yet so simple. Thanks for the how to!
  21. now that right there is a fine example of redneck engineering. and I mean that as the highest compliment. have a need, find a solution. Hats off to you sir, well done!
  22. Thanks for the kind words! I wasn't sure I liked 'em until I got em on the motor and set in the chassis. Like I said, they ain't perfect, but they'll do. be cool if someone would tool em up for 3d printing. I think I'd use the revell motor though, it has a bit more detail..
  23. yeah, those guys in the bay area seem to be in a league of their own. amazing how much talent in one room. you hold your own just fine...
  24. Thanks Bernard. Seems we both suffer from the same affliction: Can't build out of the box... But we can build outside the box..
