  1. I'm finishing up the first issue of the '53 Hornet. Moebius didn't include a decal for the rear trunk's "TWIN H POWER" emblem. Do any of the newer Hudson issues have it? Thanks in advance.
  2. I have a small emblem I made, that needs to go on the car body. I was thinking of using clear paint. I don't currently have any bottled clear enamel, but I do have clear Tamiya in a bottle. Will that work?
  3. Acid core solder. I found out the hard way never to use it again.
  4. If you feel it will become an issue someday....I'd attach the wheels with a drop of epoxy that will weld the entire assembly into one unit. I don't see it as an issue....but I ain't built a production kit yet. There is a reason for the rear axle molded as a unit......someday we'll know I am sure..... Thanks! Which is exactly what I would do, regardless. It's not a toy (to me), don't need to roll.
  5. BEST '60 'mino I've seen!
  6. Like. I see how you accented the lugs with a dark wash. Good detailing.
  7. Wheel and tires give this the look it needs. Just right.
  8. Definitely worth watching.
  9. My Fotki 1:1 LINCOLN album link for inspiration. Most of it in order by title: http://public.fotki.com/JCole/11_fomoco/11_lincoln__mercury/page5.html
  10. I did an early test shot for this kit. Early, as in "stone age". Slush cast, probably by Sam Miller, iirc.
  11. Keep at it! They are beautiful cars!
  12. Guess I am a tad bit late to the party on this one, but I got to tell you... that is one fine looking Merc Woody. Or Mercoody, if you want. Either way, fine job, sir!
  13. Never cared for the little runt. Now as I look at it, I think I would just lop the roof off all together. Maybe go with a roll bar or roll cage instead, along with bigger tires.
  14. Yes. I think that judging by the age set of modelers on this web site, there are a lot of people who will remember that show. I think, based by the average age set of attendants at any model show, contest, or club meeting, there are a lot of people who will remember that show. Marketing matters.
  15. Also the head-and taillight bezels and the bar that sits above the rear bumper, all of which would be difficult to cover with BMF. It's not a big deal - I often have to re-chrome kit parts or fix them with BMF. That's what I get for not giving it a thorough look over. Thanks.
  16. As I recall, the only textured chrome part, is the top surface of the hood ornament. A small, flat surface. Wet sand it smooth, dry, add BMF. Done.
  17. That bubblegum thing on the roof is so big, they should actually fill it with bubblegum. Uninspiring.
  18. Yeah, hearing defensive talk right out of the gate will send up red flags in a hobby that is already weighed down with trust issues (thus the "good trader/bad trader" stuff that regularly appears in hobby social media). Think more like a salesman. You need to sell yourself, your skills, and your integrity. You can make, or break it with every word you post. Good luck to you.
  19. If the local hobby shop has it, I plan on buying this kit tomorrow. Not going to build it, just going to carve some rear bumper guards. Laminate some scrap plastic. Cut to shape. Sand smooth and round edges. Alclad. Then attach to rear bumper. Then put it back in the box for another day. Bumper guards... ...the new "engine block halves" of model car building.
  20. Like I needed to read down this far to find the truth.
  21. The wire wheels come with that kit.
  22. Yeah... I would be proud to have that McLaren on my shelf. Good job.
  23. Mine won't start.
