  1. I have an illuminated curio cabinet to display my models, with an in line rotary switch. Any ideas out there on how to create a passive on-off switch that senses when someone is in front of it? My attempts at finding some info on Google turned up little. Sounds like something for someone with a home security background. If it can be done for under $100 I would be interested.
  2. The Premier Rampside is not very accurate in shape, as well as accuracy. Not so much as any clear parts. Dean's Rampside is light years better, and as stated earlier, it was based on a VW Vanagon.
  3. As I look at the parts layout, I see little clues that spark the ol' memory bank. The cut hood... the four port fender collector for the exhaust. I love it when I see something that I may have built as a youngster. Maybe this time, I'll be smart enough to not paint the body with oil paint!
  4. So right! Like those hot pipes. How did you get them to look like that?
  5. Cool! Keep it going. Looking forward to completion.
  6. Batmobile can be a base for other creations...
  7. Dajiban! They actually "race" these vans in Japan. Although the pics I have found, show a later model van. I think they are amused at the bulk of them. Plus, vans (usually mini) are still hot over there.
  8. Thanks, Mike. Is that aerosol, or bottle?
  9. Well, it took three auto parts stores to find this. Perfect for the look of cast metal, or even a good neutral color. First two "nopes" were Bond Auto, then Auto Zone. The kid at AZ couldn't even get the register to work, which I took as an omen. I was going to settle for "Stainless Steel", but that wasn't what I had set out for. I put the can back while Jr. went looking for help. So glad I waited, as Sanel Auto Parts had it. They are a northeast chain, and a REAL auto parts store, with actual knowledgeable staff.
  10. Announced on Revell's Facebook page:
  11. After hard times required last year that I liquidate 1000+ kits, I just bought my second kit- the '49 Mercury Woody. Just too cool to pass up. Also found some #11 size saw blades
  12. That's one looker of a Lambo! ?
  13. Now that's a looker! ?
  14. Yeah! That's awesome stuff!
  15. Got to agree with that. Cut a base out of scrap plastic. Add scrap widgets for the internals. Easy peasy.
  16. Anyone know of a kit with wheels similar to the Miata shown below? Any help would be appreciated.
  17. Really like! Looks like the wood is done in a deep mahogany. Great touch!
  18. I think the kit shared some with this Monza SS IMSA.
  19. That has been reissued? Is it still molded in pink?
  20. I recently saw a pic of a built one, painted black. The casting made me think "Great, if your nickname is Stringbean". Not the end of the world, but still worth pointing out.
  21. Whitewalls, pad printed tire lettering, tinted glass, times are good!
  22. Porsche 356 Speedster w/ out of state plates. Blown '55 Chevy in black Cobra. Probably a replica.
  23. I have a vintage sourced AMT kit with the rectangular groove in the bottom of the hood. The one you cut open for a blower. I want to make sure that groove doesn’t “ghost” through the finished paint on topside when it gets time to finish it. Any ideas?
