  1. That's a really nice model! The top rated minivan by Consumer Reports.
  2. And the winner of the internet for today is..... Jesse! Tell him what he won, Bob!
  3. How did he get that so quick? It was announced maybe two weeks ago(?)
  4. Absolutely blown away that the Mustang was kitted without headlights. Intended age bracket don't mean squat- of course car guys of all ages want scale Mustangs. Versus the cost of including them? I get the whole "simple kit, easy for young builders" thing. But to ignore such a basic part, that's like asking half your customer base to ignore it. Because if I didn't know about guys like Frank casting the parts, I would say "no". It's just marketing common sense. Two little clear parts; or the lack of, kill the look of the finished product. Where is the marketing common sense here? When I walk in that hobby store, there are literally hundreds of choices before me. The 'stang kit? "No headlights? No, thanks".
  5. Such a strange occurrence- wheels melting from a chemical reaction with the tires. Has anyone ever tried wrapping the outside of the rim with BMF foil?
  6. Jim, this one is rock solid awesome! Great styling touches especially to the front and back. The under hood mods just reflects what the 1:1 manufacturers are doing. Not unusual at all.
  7. If you please, how did you do the black border around the orange? It's all so good!
  8. Clean, & well maintained. Your '65 is sweet looking. I owned four 'vairs. A daily driver '65 Monza 110HP auto 4-door in maroon w/ wires & tri spinners. A '61 Greenbriar that was kind enough to make it it to my house before it died. A '63 Spyder Coupe that just had a full mechanical resto. My plan was to do the body. And, the sad little early model Monza that was found in an animal barn. No floor. They should have carted me off in a straight jacket. Eventually became a parts car. We almost set the chicken barn on fire trying to get it to run. We were throwing frozen chunks of snow at the engine to knock down the flames. Ahhh! Good times!
  9. Chuck, another awesome Hudson! I found a car that looks similar. What a comparison!
  10. Very nice. You may want to check ink levels in your printer. Looks like you are running low.
  11. "Bought it on Friday, finished it on Sunday." About the same amount of time it takes me to feel comfortable enough to glue together the engine halves without screwing up a sequence. That is an awesome Hudson! Really like the new roof.
  12. No I haven't, Brett. But I do like the idea. Hope to get on that this evening.
  13. Thanks for the info regarding the newest release (green box art). I am no marketing expert, and It really doesn't matter what actually happened in 1954. At least to me. It's 2016, these models average about about $35. (around here). Seems to me, if you want to keep milking the tooling over several different versions, it helps to add more, not less. I believe it is a model first, and a replica second. Doesn't matter to me that the car offered this time is more basic. The kit should offer more, not less. More, as in addition to the Kelsey Hayes wire wheels. You already have them! Also, add whatever plain wheels, as are in this version. Whitewalls, one side only. Blackwalls on the other side. They can paint the ww's black if so desired, or put the ww's on the inside. But why offer just blackwalls? Buying two Hudson's to get the new version and the K-H wires will cost me around $70. I just don't have that kind of cabbage on hand. Give us a break. Offer more, not less.
  14. Tasty!
  15. I like Testors Liquid Cement. But when I need to replace it, I plan on trying Tamiya or Ambroid. Meantime, whenever I cut off those little round ejection pin bits off clear parts, I drop them in my clear cement. once it dissolves, it has a little more body to it.
  16. It's being listed as a '77. Google Image shows the '77 as the original "low" hood.
  17. "1964 Plymouth Belvedere Lawnman Super Stock Car" Co-sponsored by Miracle Grow, no doubt.
  18. Liquid glues, as well as small bottles of thinner, I store mine in an inverted Krylon cap. The kind with the inner ring of plastic.
  19. Hot Curl even has a page in Wiki. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_Curl
  20. Me'es thinks that, in the case of the chrome on the four fenders, there is a body style line stamped into the steel. It appears just a tad above the top of each chrome strip. Same thing happened with the Hudsons. Many built ups I have seen, the BMF was incorrectly cut on the body style line, rather than the top edge of the chrome trim, just below it.
  21. Correct. All quite peculiar.
  22. Thing is, the Hudson kit has gone through several versions. Yet as of today, only ONE version has offered the desirable Kelsey Hays wire wheels. I have no problems with them waiting beyond the first release to issue them. Now that the K/H rims are out in the first 1954 kit, why not reissue them in the next issue? I already bought two kits to get the first issue sporting the K/H wheels. If I remember correctly, the '54 with the K/H's didn't appear until the third street version. Add the NASCAR kits, and that number is even higher. Now, they intro a bland '54 fastback with plain wheels. So, we get the boring saucer plates once again, but have to attempt to hunt down that one kit with the wires. Two kits to get one good one. Plus, apparently no white walls in the newest issue? Are they going to also offer a scale ugly stick they beat this thing with? Hey, I love a decked out Hudson. Proud of the '53 I built. Just don't dig the plain Jane version. And with the going MSRP's on, well, all of today's new issue kits, I just cannot afford to buy a now out of production kit*, just for wheels. Especially when they could have easily included them in the latest version. I'm still going to buy it, but.... please include the good stuff! And... if they should, by chance offer them with the inverted bathtub, looks like I will be stuffing my face with crow! *It IS out of production, no?
