  1. Also the head-and taillight bezels and the bar that sits above the rear bumper, all of which would be difficult to cover with BMF. It's not a big deal - I often have to re-chrome kit parts or fix them with BMF. That's what I get for not giving it a thorough look over. Thanks.
  2. As I recall, the only textured chrome part, is the top surface of the hood ornament. A small, flat surface. Wet sand it smooth, dry, add BMF. Done.
  3. That bubblegum thing on the roof is so big, they should actually fill it with bubblegum. Uninspiring.
  4. Yeah, hearing defensive talk right out of the gate will send up red flags in a hobby that is already weighed down with trust issues (thus the "good trader/bad trader" stuff that regularly appears in hobby social media). Think more like a salesman. You need to sell yourself, your skills, and your integrity. You can make, or break it with every word you post. Good luck to you.
  5. If the local hobby shop has it, I plan on buying this kit tomorrow. Not going to build it, just going to carve some rear bumper guards. Laminate some scrap plastic. Cut to shape. Sand smooth and round edges. Alclad. Then attach to rear bumper. Then put it back in the box for another day. Bumper guards... ...the new "engine block halves" of model car building.
  6. Like I needed to read down this far to find the truth.
  7. The wire wheels come with that kit.
  8. Yeah... I would be proud to have that McLaren on my shelf. Good job.
  9. Mine won't start.
  10. Amen to that. Of all the "important" things in my life, models are not one of them.
  11. Wickedly cool!
  12. ...and any other kit manufacturer out there. Sometimes it seems as though, as builders comment about why certain issues exist in the industry, that it is possible to lose sight of what we are dealing with. I speak of office staff, management, engineering, etc. There are no Madison Avenue office high rise locations. No occupying the entire top floor of a skyscraper. So an idea, if you may: how about a photo of your staff? No, I'm not talking about the people that run the injection machines, box the parts, do the plating, etc. I mean the folks that plan, make the decisions, do the paperwork, and... deal with us builders. Photoshop in any part timers, and contracted help. I don't think they would exactly fill up a Holiday Inn ballroom.
  13. OK, the Corvette... NOBODY WAS HURT. Well, except for the pride of the guy unloading it. The Mustang, that looks to be quite possibly a fatal, and there is nothing funny about that. The Lemans, that happened at a "Cars & Coffee" event. Nobody was inside the Lemans at the time. I don't know about the driver of the other car, other than to say it was a female.
  14. Should always be cut, snipped, or sawed off. Never broken away.
  15. What Tom said. We are not the center of this hobby. Nothing revolves around us.
  16. Jeez. You guys that live.... in "populated" areas, get to see all the cool stuff right away. We rarely see anything high end around here. All the old money here drives Volvos. Although the yellow Aventador I saw this past weekend in Nashua was an eye popper. Don't know when I will see an i8 around here. BTW, nice yellow one currently on page 2 of "1:1 Car Reference Pictures"
  17. BIG scale. One of thirteen.... http://www.carscoops.com/2015/06/porsche-selling-919-hybrid-11-model-for.html
  18. One of these days, I must lower that light bar.
  19. Rear plate and their lights fold down on the tailgate of our 2004 Subaru Brat, although seldom used. So the whole concept of tailgates with fold down items is real.
  20. You are correct; the Eldorod was not on the original list of... what? Just one month ago, or so? If that list can change, so can the results. Will Revell do two all new kits? What about the other kits? Or will they produce the minimum, then claim that "the sales were not there"? Just wondering. Been let down before.
  21. I voted for the Eldorod and Grand Master.
