  1. Bill: If you are referring to the statement (shared below) by Art Anderson, take it with a grain of salt. It was posted on 11/1/12. I don't really keep up on MCG products, have they intro'd new detail products since? Hope I haven't missed any info. "I talked by phone with Bob Korunow of Model Car Garage just a week ago: He told me that he's had to deal with some family situations (elderly parents, IIRC), which has gotten into his time for drawing up new products for photoetching, but things have settled down, so he's getting back to the important stuff in his life and business."
  2. Moebius is churning out several versions of the early 50's Hudsons. Sure wish someone would do just the scripts and emblems in photoetch. Also, consider if photoetch not feasible, perhaps in decal form? We need... something. I'm at a loss to understand why these few scripts / emblems were not added to the decal sheet.
  3. If I was to build a weathered car model, I would hope it would come out as good as yours.
  4. Great tips all! Thank you.
  5. Does anyone make a photoetch set for any of the Hudson kits? Really wish Mobius had included at least decals for the script on the trunk.
  6. Agreed. It's a wagon... with no windows.
  7. 58 year old car. Could it be? Bumper.... ...not original? Could be. All I see on bumper is... ...glare.
  8. Kit is on the way, so I thought I would share these.
  9. I need a tip or idea how to wet sand near raised parts, such as body side trim, etc. I can smooth out the "open" areas, but I have a hard time on the edges. Any suggestions?
  10. Like many race cars, Tope's was constantly evolving. At least I think that's the case. As what few photos there are, seem to have different details. As a model builder, that means it is hard to nail down anything for 100% accuracy.
  11. Inspired to pick up where I left off with my Tope 'stang. Well, my pic disappeared, and I can't seem to repost it.
  12. Nude Hampster. Rednecks driving rusted pickup trucks. That is quite common here.
  13. For me, it would be a toss-up between the '59, or the '60. I think the '60 is more elegant.
  14. It looks just like a 70's Barracuda... ...a half mile away ...at night ...from a speeding train.
  15. Leaving the filling station today, I see a Chevy pickup on a side road. "Like A Rock" must refer to what must have landed on it at some point. I don't think the snow did that!
  16. Hallmark has a new Harley in 1/24 every Fall, through the holidays. They average about $15. They look good, with the exceptions of no tire tread, and chrome instead of clear headlight. These are tree ornaments, however, so there is a tiny eyelet in the middle. I just clamp a mini vise grip, and twist it out. Leaves a tiny hole. Not a big problem. I used to have the whole set before I sold off most everything. Old and new Harleys.
  17. Stunning 962!
  18. In regards to our hobby, Harry? Other, non model related topics is of no interest here. Or so I thought.
  19. West Coast Ports Could Shut Down in Days, Cripple Asia Trade http://www.nbcnews.com/business/economy/west-coast-ports-could-shut-down-days-cripple-asia-trade-n300701 Traffic at nearly 30 West Coast ports is on the verge of "complete gridlock" and shipping officials have threatened to stop paying dockworkers if a contract deal is not reached soon. Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Pacific Maritime Association CEO James McKenna said West Coast seaports, which handle some $1 trillion in trade per year, could shut down in the next five to 10 days and cripple U.S. trade with Asia. He said the organization is not considering a technical "lockout," but warned that the shipping system would inevitably bring itself to a stop if congestion persists. PMA and the International Longshore & Warehouse Union have been working to negotiate new contracts since May. Nearly 20,000 dockworkers at 29 ports are impacted. PMA says ILWU has conducted slowdowns, walk-offs and other actions at key ports, aggravating congested conditions and disrupting cargo movement in a bid to influence the talks. He said productivity had dropped between 30 percent and 50 percent in recent months, crippling whole strings of vessels, in some cases. It's like "they're getting paid to grind us into the ground," McKenna said. The union denied the claims and said the congestion crisis was "employer-caused." 20. Most watched event ever in USA television history. Couldn't have been that dull.
  21. All of a sudden, this BIG MARGIN of under inflation isn’t so big a deal after all…. http://nesn.com/2015/02/report-many-of-patriots-deflategate-footballs-were-just-few-ticks-under-level/ http://www.businessinsider.com/new-england-patriots-deflategate-balls-2015-2 http://theweek.com/speedreads/537003/report-deflategate-footballs-werent-grossly-under-inflated-after-all http://boston.cbslocal.com/2015/01/27/richs-sources-patriots-footballs-passed-referee-inspection-just-under-allowable-psi-level/ Now, the balls were checked indoors, yes? In heated rooms, right? And air pressure is NEVER affected by temp, according to every kid that has flunked science. And inflated objects never leak, or do they? So anxious for this to play through. So anxious to hear about the Patriots organization filing lawsuits after the accusers cannot prove any of their claims. Even the NFL cannot verify any ball pressure.
  22. Bill Nye is also a big Seahawk fan. Even says so. So his "science" is also suspect.
  23. Man, that looks great! Favor, please... can you add the word "Corvair" in the title so I can find it when I buy my kit, and want to look at your builds? Thanks!
