  1. Stunning artwork! Better design than the coupe, imho!
  2. Obama ad by Clint? Interesting, especially as Mr. Eastwood is a registered Republican. Spin it as you may.
  3. Oh, this can't be good. Perhaps wrap each wheel with BMF to act as a barrier?
  4. That is exactly what my boss does, and I assure you, there is NO extra money to buy subwoofers, chrome plating, extravagant paint, and other gee-gaws. That is a big investment. My point is, which contractor will charge the school administration less... the one who has stock busses, or the one who has invested thousands, if not tens of thousands, into a rolling custom truck show. I don't think it takes a degree in business management to figure this one out. Don't get me wrong, the busses are cool and all, but that stuff is coming (read: $$$) from somewhere, and I doubt it's from the SAU or the taxpayers.
  5. Harry, you are, of course, correct. I was just having fun with what I see as the absurdity of it... just my op. Won't bring it up again.
  6. When I was 8... yes. Poop. 9,215 and counting.
  7. That excuse can cover a lot, most of which doesn't make any sense. Detail please. How do they get a return on their investment?
  8. I would be interested to know what financial incentive the contractor has to make such a large, not to mention unnecessary investment in outfitting busses with sharp lugs and an overabundance of eardrum blasting speakers? And could you send them here?
  9. Ha! Ha! Ha! I got to show this to my boss! His idea of "custom" is repainting the Caravans so all the body panels match ! Not to mention hiding the rust bubbles. Ironically, the van I drive broke down today. Just another day.
  10. We also called them "Roach Coaches". I remember one that stopped regulary at the garage I worked at, dude served green hot dogs! No yum there. Also used to let the guys run up a tab. Then my co-workers got wise to the dude, and started keeping track of what they were charging, and his tab was usually higher. Management sent him packing. I think the business relationship hit bottom when someone squirted mustard all over his truck!
  11. I saw these today @ Hobby Town. Didn't buy any, just rare to see all three together.
  12. Andy, you don't need to wear those respirators. As long as you're not planning on breathing past age 50. I worked several years in the auto body trade, in my youth. I am paying for not taking my lungs seriously.
  13. Ha! Now THAT's what I'm talking about! OK... back to Hollywood Squares.
  14. Nice low profile!
  15. Scott, that is some fine scratchbuilding!
  16. I made a firewall from sheet aluminum, to get the indent, I used plastic glued to a block of wood. Two, actually... male & female, with a bit of a gap between so the metal could have room to bend. I sandwiched the tin between the two molds, and using a rubber mallet, I gave it a good whack! Just polish, then draw out the finished shape, and cut to fit. And that is the extent of my metal crafting.
  17. Aluminum for less than the price of a cup of coffee... yeah, you did good.
