  1. I suggest you first check to see if your new photo is too big. Try re-sizing it. Best way to do that is to use a photo host site, such as Photobucket.
  2. I know just the thing for you, Peter!
  3. Not every kit kit on the shelf is a new or recent issue / reissue, and this hobby has a rich history of kits that are still being reissued. They won't be updated to full detail, sometimes the builder has to figure out how to do that.
  4. Like results so far... but really, they way over-hyped this game.
  5. While resin is more brittle, I can't say I have seen it break on me. You can still cut it and sand it. A respirator should be worn when sanding; airborne resin particles are not friendly to lungs. Also, the only compatible glues are super glue and epoxy.
  6. Such quality work is humbling. Thanks for sharing this.
  7. Harry... how do you do that? Find such weird stuff? I mean... Turkey? I didn't even know they made cars! I figured they had mopeds and donkeys towing wooden wagons for transportation. You got us this week!
  8. Paint, among other things. I can walk in to a hobby store, and eyeball color selections of (hopefully) multiple brands. Visual effect. I can read lists until my eyes bleed, but there is little substitute for seeing the new kit selection right in front of me. We have discussed the effect of model box art before, and many on-line vendors cannot afford graphics. So a nod goes to the visual effect of hobby shops. Memory. As in "I have little". So for me to see what is new, or even just in stock, is a big plus.
  9. I have an album of Edsel pics... http://public.fotki.com/JCole/11_fomoco/11-edsel-please-tra/ ...but you could find them on Google as well.
  10. I agree, Skip. Hard to read any info even in HD, depending on the broadcast network. We purchased an HDTV only a year ago after our antique box started to blink out. First thing I noticed is the credits at the end of a movie. On the old set, the small white text on the black background was illegible, yet on HDTV I can see it fine. I wonder if your old TV affects your football game?
  11. As stated, these techs for all their knowledge, seem to lack basic common sense, Be it cars or computers (is there a difference?) they actually need to depend on focus groups and private screenings. Here is something that I found today. I think it is relevant:
  12. We live in a time when todays new gadget is tomorrows obsolete junk. I use Facebook, an Android phone, and a laptop. But truth be told, I am more a Luddite than a tecno. There are numerous reasons. Not all of us can afford the latest e-toy. And the tech industry doesn’t exactly make it easy for us 50+ folks to figure this stuff out. When I opened the box for my Android phone… no instructions. Cars no longer come with printed owners manuals (so I am told with some Chrysler products). I don’t have a teenager to help out with this stuff. Gigs, megs, ram, bytes, and all those other terms sound like Chinese to me. Could look them up, but the definitions are also tech yap. Cloud? That’s something up in the sky. Bluetooth? Guess I missed the big unveiling / explanation on World News when that came out. In fact, I just found out what the heck Bluetooth is because I had to return a combo earbud & microphone (wired) to the store that I got for Christmas. Instead of the fancy name, maybe just call it what is? If tech is so important (and I believe it is), then why has the industry failed to get the info to the public? If you know the terminology, it can be researched, but that isn’t the same as having someone to explain it to us in easy to understand terms. And once we get behind the curve, we just find ourselves in an even deeper hole than before, until it seems like there is no hope. Maybe if mass media put even half the effort to help us out understanding technology than they waste yapping about Snookie and Lindsay Lohan, maybe we would be better off. Just sayin. So why don’t I understand it? Perhaps the same way most of you don’t know magic. And if I had a dollar for every time someone said to me “Oh, I can show you how that works! I’ll have to show you sometime.” Yeah, suuure you will.
  13. I always look forward to buying his stuff at the NNL East! Youu can't beat the price. Just know you get what you pay for. Most bodies are one piece... no separate hoods, no chrome plated bumpers. In fact, no chrome at all. Scribe lines are iffy. Don't matter to me. I have a chopped '37 Ford pu cab on the bench now. Needs some work, but for $10 who cares?!
  14. You may find some here... http://public.fotki.com/JCole/11_chevy__gmc/11-cadillac-limos-h/page4.html
  15. Re: Tru140- I don't see the A pillar being a problem at all. Picture them from the drivers seat... they protude forward, not left or right. Seeing what is behind you, now that may be a problem. Hope rear-facing cameras are in the plan.
  16. Make a heck of a doorstop.
  17. List some kits you are looking for, but cannot find. That way, we can tell if other locations are also missing new issues and reissues. Off the top of my noggin, I have seen the '62 Thunderbird at my LHS. What else?
  18. I'm learning a lot here. I had no idea that spray paint was an issue, but I can certainly see why. Obviously, the clerk should have been polite to Austin. On the other hand, if I got upset every time a clerk was less than pleasant to me, I would have to make a second career for complaining about it. In your case, I would chalk it up to your age. As you get older, you will learn not to take these things personally. It really doesn't matter what his/her reason was, it happened then, and sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, it will happen again. Just let it roll off your back. Just roll your eyes, and move on.
  19. Danbury Mint closing out several nice cars, including the Hirohata Merc & The Dream Truck. If you ever said "someday", now is the time. http://www.danburymint.com/diecast/cat/Last-Chance-Die-Cast-Cars_698.aspx?cm_mmc=DiecastFB-_-Diecast-_-Diecast-_-Link My DM Hirohata:
  20. That??? That... looks so generic, that I doubt its authenticity. Overall lack of detail, blacked out interior... meh. Biggest concern is could it be an indication of size? Hope it's not as scrawny as it appears.
  21. Indeed there is! I believe it is due this summer.
  22. When I saw the first pic, I actually thought it was a 1:1 truck. It's that good.
  23. Instructions don't have traditional color call-outs per panel like typical instructions, instead they printed up color renderings on the other side of the instructions. HTH.
  24. I spoke w/ Harry about this, and as a result, we're going to implement full background checks. Starting with urine tests. Harry will post his mailing address soon, where you can forward that sample to.
