  1. Good descrip of the 1:1 car! This detailed promo is nice, don't see them too often.
  2. So the builder was offended that his model was in the same league as a well built overall nice die-cast? Yeesh! Maybe had you mentioned Danbury Mint....
  3. Also, I am trying to condition myself to use the "View new content" button. I don't know why, but I have always avoided it. I always preferred to go down the list, so to speak. I know that I am missing many cool threads by that old, antiquated view habit. Gonna start using that VIEW NEW STUFF button!
  4. Bill, sorry to hear of the stress you are dealing with now. Life does keep handing us speedbumps. Hope everyone in your life does better, and we get to hear from you soon.
  5. Great build! Great color combo!
  6. Hello? The 80's called. They like the decals! Seriously, I want to build this as well. Such a great ride!
  7. That "Corvette Summer" pic makes me cringe!
  8. I wish I could find this chart in a better quality!
  9. Still more detail questions, if you don't mind. What appears to be a metal water hose exits from the top of the front housing, and runs down the side of the head above the intake, where it terminates between the two carbs for a rubber hose to take it to the firewall. So the Q is, don't heater cores have a return hose to the block? Where is the one on the Hudson?
  10. Besides what I see are the more obvious, which several have covered here already, I really couldn't do without my moto tool (yes, I know someone already mentioned it already), and my gooseneck magnifying lamp. Worth every penny.
  11. Questioning the authenticity of a celebrity's autograph / signature on a public forum is of course allowed!
  12. Christophers photo shows what you need. Find a set of sizes from #61 to #80, and don't be surprised if you occasionally break one or two. I keep a list on my phones Word program of replacement bits I need, some hobby shops do sell by size bit. A pin vise is good to have, but I guess a #11 knife handle will work.
  13. I can't even read the scratches in that signature. The typo is just in the description (or is it?)
  14. This made me think of the Corvette 1953 'Skinny Dipper' AMT kit by Tim Kolankiewicz... just double it up. I think the catamaran idea is wild! Looking forward to seeing where this one goes!
  15. This thread could use a better title than... "?" In fact, there was another thread on that very idea. No dis meant, I was just "?"
  16. Well, I sure don't care to start filling spokes, learn resin casting, and finish this in time for NNL East. As it is, most projects never get finished. Another one joins the heap.
  17. The 5-spoke wheels that are available in the Revell '29 pickup have a unique feature, as each spoke appears to have a bolt where the the spoke meets the rim. Any idea what brand of wheel this is? If I wanted to keep the rim chrome, but paint the spokes a cast color, should I also paint the center hub? Thanks.
  18. No. The dissy in q is the six from the Hudson. Using (iirc) a #76 bit in a pin vise, and sanding a level surface on the top of the distributor, I first drilled a center hole for the coil wire, then six more holes around the center hole. This work is easier under a goose neck magnifier lamp.
  19. You mean, don't mention that is a Dunderpoop GT here?
  20. They had a '37 Sedan Delivery...
  21. Good to be at the bench again. I tried a few new (to me) ideas, and thought I would share. I drilled a distributor for plug & coil wires, but rather than glue in each wire individually, I placed each wire in the upright dissy, then using a toothpick, added a few tiny drops of clear flat lacquer instead of glue to the top of the distributor. Model Master’s “Steel” is almost a champaign gold, too bright for what I needed. Plus, it was just started to thicken up. I darkened it with about 15% flat black, plus at least that much Testors clear flat lacquer, with maybe 5% enamel reducer. Worked slick. So tired of buying bottle paint… so I made my own color.
  22. Very nice! Like the black wheels, hood and rear deck. Good contrast with the aluminum body color. The plug wires look interesting. If I may make one suggestion, when you install headlights, notice the engraved line pattern, they should be horizontal & vertical. I place them in position using the corner of a Post-It note. Overall a beautiful build! Thanks for sharing.
