  1. Wow! I see there is a certain theme in the responses!
  2. I think it is real.
  3. Bart, what do you mean by "I've been in B.F. Egypt for over 2 years now"? I don't understand, your info says you are in Texas. As for using a computer, why not use (and get to know) one at a nearby library?
  4. Why not just put it aside for now, and try the test of time? Who knows, you just may want to get back into it later on.
  5. I would do exactly what you are planning to do. Should look great.
  6. Sometimes, that "Murphy" can be such a jerk! Sorry for your spat of bad luck. Maybe it was just bad luck? I would think the overspray would chase them little buggers off... but who knows? I used to spray outdoors, and yeah, that has happened to me as well. But at least it was the exception. I used to spray off the edge of the deck, then walk back inside between coats. Verrry careful not to kick up dust, works best when no one else was home. So, a lose part blew off? Can you attach them to something with weight? When I spray, I use a stand made from the old style cloths hanger, with the cardboard tube removed. Dremel off the tip of the hook, and spread the two wires to form "feet". A nice, heavy vice grip forms the third leg of the tri pod paint stand. Can you use a vice grip to weigh down the base?
  7. Dave, glad you are back! I like your "Fail to quit" outlook! If you feel like you're hitting the bottom, cheer up! Things can only go back up from there!
  8. I want an off white for a roof on my Hudson. Wimbleton White is still too brite. I just found this pic from a contest in Sweden... that looks just right. Any ideas? EDIT: maybe it is Wimbleton White? Photo courtesy 'Risto'
  9. Jeez, I found another one! (did I say that with pride? ) It's a Honda City, iirc. Not so much the build, but those gawd awful homemade graphics. Printed them on our first printer waaay back when. Now I joke that it must have been set on about 4 DPI. They look like they are growing fuzz!
  10. STUNNING! Great build! Great color! Great car!
  11. We do seem to have a lot of builders from the southwest corner of the US! Lots of Arizona. Beautiful country, hope to visit someday... as soon as the missus buys the correct lottery ticket!
  12. Déjà vu!
  13. I've been thinking about this one, something w/ pictures. All my stuff from my youth is long gone. Then I remembered the resin "Miller" cars. I believe that is the name of the man that cast these, from old Banthrico promos I believe. These are as crude as they come, includes a body, a slab for a chassis, four wheel / tires, and two metal axles.\ No interior. Windows weren't even smooth, so I cut out thin gray plastic inserts. This was in the late 80's, iirc. Same source for this Tucker. After paint & BMF, the foil started to bubble up. No paint issues, just foil!
  14. " "Nissan" sounds like a little girl sneezing."
  15. Nice! Hope mine comes out that nice. Better still, I hope I actually finish mine.
  16. That's going to look awesome!
  17. Thanks, Neil! I recognize several builds, some just by their style! Nice stuff indeed.
  18. Tom, crappy situation, but you do have a good attitude about it. Hope it all works out for you somehow. Maybe new(er) RV in your future?
  19. OK, like Foxer says, we've done this thread before, but what the heck, lets share anyhow. My current ride for the past 3 years or so, 2004 Passat W8 The wife has her Scooby: And the "company van"
  20. No photos from Masscar? I find nothing in "Contests & Shows". Hope someone has photos to share.
  21. I'm a car guy. I used to carry a pic of either one of my model cars, and / or my 1:1 car in my wallet. Not my wife. True story. So my earlier post was just expressing my amusement that some have no pic of their ride. No intent to be rude, or to point out any one person. Sometimes, we just need to laugh at ourselves! Altho, my wife wasn't laughing when she found out the one photo in my wallet... wasn't her! So tomorrow, as I referred to before, go to your nearest local inconvienance store, and buy some film for your digital camera, and fer Gawds sake, click some pics! Both real car, and scale ones too!
