For cutters, I just bought the ones you see at HL and they have worked well. I really don't use files but I do use the small paper nail files that the wife's uses. I recently bought some small square sanding blocks the HL sells.

I've used Rust-Olem paint for years on everything from metal lawn furniture, birdhouses, and models. Last year I tried the Rust-Oleum flat gray primer on a mode! and it worked out great. The paint goes on smooth and levels out nicely. I recently sprayed a model truck with Rusty Oleum flat white primer and cleared it with Tamiya pearl clear. The paint job turned out great. I'll be trying the flat red primer and clearing it with Rust-Oleum clear lacquer this Spring.

I laid the front suspension and exhaust system on the chassis to see how the fit is and all is well. I also cleaned up the white walls and did a trial fit to the tires. The fit is nice. May paint the white walls a flat white.

What about the FolkArt paint did you not like? I've only used it once but it seem to lay down fine.

Haha....it's funny you mentioned driving that to high school. I use to park my 57 Studebaker 2 blocks away. Didn't want others to see what I was driving.

I really like the Rust-Oleum primers. They lay down about as good as any primer I've used. I'm planning on painting a model this year with the Rust-Oleum red primer and clear it with a gloss.

Riley that paint with the white Grille just looks really sharp. Looks just like the color on a 1:1.

I like your story Jim. My mom always liked the big Chryslers and the Rambler wagons. My Grandfather Liked the Studebaker's and that was my first car....1957 Golden Hawk.

This will be a nice build. When I think of the 70 Challenger from back in the day this one color always comes to mind.
