Bainford, Thanks for the info. Yup....I just wanted to prime and paint. Wasn't sure if the paint would stick to the chrome.

I have some Dawn Power Dissolver on hand. Anyone ever use this? I don't want to take the chance of screwing my parts up?

Got a little touch up painting in this morning. I saw someone online had drilled out the ends of the exhaust pipes so I thought I would do the same. I painted the inside semi gloss back. I'm cheap so I have my poor mans magnifying glass for the small detail work.

I've started on my second kit and I choose the Foose Ford FD-100 pickup. This is my second built in 50+ years and the first kit (amt 1950 Chevy 3100 Pickup) went ok but I have leaned from my mistakes and hopefully can do better on this one. This time around instead of using rattle cans which the paint comes out way to thick I bought a Paasche H airbrush. I've practiced a little with it but need more time with it. I have the engine put together to the point were I'm waiting on my pre-wired distributor from Model Roundup to come in.

Well Dave....I'm not trying to pick hard colors believe me ☺ The second pic was really for the truck as it just looks pretty kewl. I think I'm going to stick with the midnight blue and a little black when it comes time to paint. I bought some Tamiya X-22 clear gloss I'm going to shoot over it. This will be my first time spraying a body with my new Paasche H airbrush. Kinda got me a little nerves.

Thanks for the info. I put a BB in my 50 and built the 216 and just sat it in the bed.

Just to clarify fellows. I am not really wanting Midnight Blue, It's just what I picked up at Hobby Lobby since they didn't really have the color I wanted. Just thought I would mix the black with the Midnight Blue to see how it turned out. I'm just playing around with some colors and my new airbrush. If anyone knows what craft paint would be closer to what I'm looking for please give me your thoughts. On a side note....while looking for colors I came across this pic. Nice looking color and REALLY nice looking truck. Still not really sure if this is a model or full size???

Well....I didn't have any windshield washer fluid so I tried Windex to thin the Ceramcoat. Seem to spray just like the Lacquer thinner did. I mixed a little black with the midnight blue hoping to darken it up a little. I sprayed this on wood so I know it's going to be different on the plastic body. It did come out a little darker but just not sure if this is what I want for my Foose 56 Ford. Still playing around with my new Paasche H. Not really planning on spraying the body any time soon. I'm going to stick with this thread since it's the one I started.

Yeah....it may not. I know that the lacquer thinner works well but I want to try the windshield washer fluid. It's raining today so I'll try tomorrow.

Haven't heard anything. Just got back from Hobby Lobby. Their Ceramcoat was on sale 40% off. I bought some greens, blue, and black. I'm going to mix a little black with the blue and greens to see if I can come up with a color for my Foose pickup.

Gotya. I'm cleaning my Paasche H with Lacquar thinner. I did buy some little Proxa Brushes that slip down the little hole pretty good.

I'm in the same boat as far as getting away from rattle cans. I'm going to spray my next build with some Ceramcoat Acrylic paint which drys flat so I'll need to clear coat it and I want to use my new Paasche H airbrush that I just purchased. I'll be watching this thread.

Got my Paasche H airbrush last night. Hooked it up this morning to give it a try. I had some Ceramcoat paint so I thinned it with thinner. Took a few try's to get it spraying correctly but I think I finally have it close. I have my air pressure set to 25 PSI. I never change the PSI, I just worked on thinning the paint more. It sprayed the best when it was almost like water. I'll probably practice a lot before I attempt to spray my first kit.
