Just thought I would give an update on the cracked windshield I had in my kit. I contacted Revell about a month ago about a replacement and never heard anything so I never thought anymore about it. Well....today the replacement windshield showed up. I have to say, Reveal came through and they seem to stand behind their product. -
What did you see on the road today?

I'm still working with my paint process and mine looked like yours my first time around. I went ahead and stripped the paint to try again. I'm not sure about your process but I think my paint was to thick and I didn't give the gloss enough time to cure. More wet sanding would probably take more of the orange peel out but in my case I ended up burning through some of the edges.

Wecome Mark. Whatya workin on?

Nice. I like the Hemi in the 55. It's something you don't normally see.

Ok fellows....here is my makeshift spray booth. I had the wife bring home a couple boxes and within 10 min this morning I had a paint booth. Granted this is nothing fancy and it is only temporary. I paint outside so I just needed something to block the wind so I can work on perfecting my paint skills. I doubled up some paper towels and tapped to the back to catch the paint.

Thanks MIke. I tried this on my Foose truck but I guess I didn't scribe deep enough. We'll see how this turns out.
-
I have not tried any of those paints.
-
I got some of the engine parts cleaned up and painted. I thought I would scribe/wash the panel lines this time and see how it turns out on this model.
-
Maybe it's just me but I'm thinking if there was any problem with the motors catching the paint on fire or anything else I would have read something online about it with all the research I've done on these little spray booths. Just like any other products, accendents can happen. Guess that's why they call them accendents.

I use the Rust-Oleum 2X Flat Gray Primer. I've airbrushed acrylic paint and Testor enamel paint of it with no problems. It lays down nice and smooth and drys quick.
-
Never thought about spraying the Rust-Oleum gloss over the primer. Not really the color I was going for but that's some food for thought. I think I've made up my mind to murder it out. I really like the look.

Yeah...at the rear of the side windows. It was pretty bad.
-
I cleaned up the body pretty good so I could spray it with Rust-Oleum flat primer this morning. Now I can see a few more area's that need to be cleaned up. Also got the distributor drilled out and plug wires glued in.
