Thanks Mike. That is Delta Ceramcoat Midnight blue acrylic paint with a touch of black mixed in. It was cleared with Tamiya X-22 Cear. The build is in WIP and Under Glass.

This thing is really kewl man. I'm diggin it. -
The Revell 1956 Ford truck (Foose) was my second build and it was great. No flash, no fit issues, and a great truck to build.
-
I did go back after about 3 hrs and spray 2 more WET coats of the clear gloss. It looks wet and much better now. I thought it was going to run on me so I kept rotating the body for about 5 min. It finally settled down and leveled out.

James....I'm a little too impatient myself and I've always been that way with everything. Very hard for me to break but I'm working on it.

Look on the positive side Mike. The area needing re-worked is the easiest spot on the car. You've got the experience so it should come out pretty good.

That is nice. Love that color and all the detail. -
Looking really good man. The detail is top notch dude.

I have the 2009 version AMT 66 Nova Pro Street on the bench and it's full of flash so I can't image what your's looks like. Try and look at it as it's just the nature of the beast and part of the hobby. If it was all nice and easy with no issues then I guess we would have show stoppers. The end result is what we are all looking for. Hand in there dude.
-
Mike, looks like you may have gotten the dryer a lttle to close.
-
I just shot the clear gloss on my Nova about 1 1/2 hrs ago. Came out pretty good.

After letting the Rust-Oleum Winter Gray dry for about 25 hrs I just sprayed the Rust-Oleum Clear Gloss on the body about 15 min ago. Has a little orange peel but everything looks uniform and the best to date so far. I'll probably let this cure until Monday and see how it looks. Not sure if I'll we sand or just polish it. The last couple times I wet sanded I went a little to much and burnt through one of the edges.

Nice build. Looks like it belongs in the rock driveway at the farm. -
Yo buddy. I was on the Mecum Auction site this morning and came across this Double Nickel and thought of your build. Only difference is yours is a 210.

Yup.....nice looking build. -
Yup. I also like the ease of cleanup with the acrylic paints. That's why I started with acrylics. The lacquer sure looks so much better though.
-
Boy oh boy. I have one but my hand is not that steady. What's your secret?
-
Nice. That blue looks killer on that year. Did you use bmf on the trim?

Looking pretty sharp dude. I like the maroon lacquer. -
Mike, I did try the Anita's gloss black and red. I still have some left along with the Tamiya acrylic paint as well. I'll still be doing some airbrushing test on the Impala body. Ill get it figured out its just taking longer than I thought it would.
-
Mike. Nice work on the paint. You know what that means with the wife's approval....whatever size you were thinking of you can now go twice as big.
-
Thanks Snake. I'll take that into consideration. Well....after adjusting the tie rods this morning on my 1:1 1949 Chevy pickup I kept thinking about my paint issue. I checked my notes and one thing that was always consistent was the primer. So, I thought why not try the Rust-Oleum top coat and see what happens since the Rush-Oleum primer seems to lay down really well. I made a trip to the local Rural King and bought a can of Winter Gray Gloss and sprayed this over the Rust-Oleum black primer and I've gotta say it looks pretty good and I haven't sprayed the Clear Gloss yet. I still have my 65 Impala test body in primer so I'll continue to work with spaying the craft and Tamyia acrylic paints.

Mike. When I tried to lightly sand the Ceramcoat acrylic paint on one of my body's it seem to come off pretty easy. So.....steady as she goes mate ☺
