  1. @iamsuperdan "ABSOLUTELY" !!! Funny how when we were younger we didn't appreciate these old "land barges" at the time, but now we just can't get enough of them. So grateful that the resin vendors gave us these works of art to not only make the hobby better, but gave us back a piece of history and a piece of our past to enjoy the 2nd time around. Dave
  2. I wonder if it's a browser issue, or computer issue? I have a business computer, not the normal home computer setup. I use Chrome browser, and just have the intermittent small ads. No ghosting or huge ads ever. Nothing blocking my view, and adds don't seem to be getting worse on my computer. Same as always. Just a thought. Dave
  3. @TooOld I love how all the smallest details that we always overlook, are coming to life on this project, and your giving detailing an interior a whole new meaning, and a higher bar of standards to attain to. Can't wait to see what your imagination has for us next. Dave
  4. It needs a little red color on it somewhere to go along with the futuristic, hotrod "Batmobile" look. Never seen the show, but love your creation. Must of been fun to build ?.
  5. @Gloozalot To much to tell here. I'll post it one of these days ?. Dave
  6. Hey Bob I have made a lot of working features on my cars in the past, but WORKING VISORS?? That's a new one and so cool. Like a lot of people, I will steal that idea - LOVE IT. Glad I am following along. Your the teacher. I am the student. Dave
  7. The swamp coolers aren't that hard to make guys. It just takes a little time and maybe go on the internet for some examples. Here's the one I made Their fun to make. Mine even has a pull cord to activate it.(If it was real)
  8. @70 Sting Love these cars, and the color you chose should be a "Knock-out." I hope your paint turns out as nice as you want. I'll be following along on this one ?. Dave
  9. Thank you @David G. and @Zippi ?
  10. Ah yes @plasticprime Those "ancient times" are just full of memories. Not just for me, but for my kids to, in the 70's, before drive-ins became a thing of the past. Neighborhoods of families would gather in groups where cars weren't parked and put blankets on the ground so all the neighbor kids could sit together. Those were the days of a simple, but wonderful life.
  11. What a nice kit and highly detailed. Looks like a lot of fun. Love the body color and the interior color you chose, and all the interior detail work you've done. And I love the wheels. Can't wait to see more. All the best, Dave
  12. Hi @Steve H I used paint on the hood lettering at the time I finished this. I didn't have a Molotow liquid chrome pen, and the lettering molded into the hood wasn't good enough for foil work. Now that I have a Molotow pen, I will use a tooth pick to re-letter the hood. I use a small pair of needle nose pliers to remove the tip from the Molotow pen body, and then using the backside of the tip which is sort of like a perforated holder of the chrome, I dab a small amount of chrome onto a small piece of plastic from that perforated holder, and then dip my tooth pick in the chrome on the piece of plastic for the right amount. You just need a steady hand and some practice. Hope that helps - Dave
  13. @TooOld Watching your progress finally got to me, and I got the 'ol resin Polara out and started cleaning 'er up. This will be fun. Like you, I will take my time and try to do her justice, as these are rare ol' birds now. Maybe I'll do her with a vert' top, if I have one in my stash. Fun watching your progress ?.
  14. Thank you Steve @StevenGuthmiller. I have seen some of your work and it's very very beautiful. Thank you for the suggestion for you technique in foiling. I will certainly give your suggestion a try, and let you know how it works out. I'm sure I will do better. Thanks for the help. Have a great 4th of July weekend. Dave
  15. I've never seen one of these early Lincolns built with an up-top, so I figured I'd give it a go and see what happens. I got the body painted with a Testors enamel, and then clear-coated it with a Tamiya clear lacquer pearl, and then regular PlastiKote clear lacquer, then rubbed it out. I'm having fun with the foil, but this old boat has a ton of chrome, so I do as much as I can, and then walk away for a while, and have lunch or something, and come back to it later when I'm in the mood. These "RAZOR Straight lines are so challenging, and there are so many. Ya gotta have a sharp blade and a steady hand, and a lot of patience?. There is a lot more foil ta go. Dave
  16. The interior and the details are looking "spectacular." You are more than doing justice to a rare and beautiful car that didn't get a lot of love in it's day, but is sure making up for it now through guys like you who keep their stunning looks alive and well and appreciated now, by you unprecedented skills and patience - I'll keep following. Can't wait for more to come, and what you have in store for us. Dave
  17. Thank you all for your kind words. Much appreciated. I have some other wagons I can share later. Everyone have a happy and safe 4th of July tomorrow. Dave
  18. Thank you @Zippi and everyone else here too. All he comments are much appreciated.?. The yellow wagon in the case you mentioned is done, and one day it may show up here. Dave
  19. I've had a lot of favorite car body styles over the years, but wagons have always been a staple that I love to build periodically. This wagon is a resin kit from R&R Vacuum Craft. One of their nicer kits in my opinion. Not a lot of clean up. I knife opened the hood and hinged it, and then found out a Lindberg 1964 Plymouth was a nice donor kit for the chassis, engine and a few other essentials. I made the inside fender wells and adapted a firewall and radiator assembly from the same '64 Plymouth. Taping the body for paint and doing the foil work is where i really spent my time. Thanks for looking. Much appreciated.
  20. @Kodiak Island Modeler Your restoration is beautiful ?. Great job. Those can be tough. I have done a few of these myself. Lately I have been tempted to buy one of these, and leave it like yours in the "before" stage, to remind me where I came from in those early years of model building and how "COOL" that time was when my own model cars cars looked like your "before." Your "before" is a cool reminder of the past. Dave
  21. That sure came out nice. Love the color and all the engine detail - VERY, VERY NICE!!
  22. Modelhau s Turnpike Cruiser lowered with 60's side exhaust. My first car was a 1950 Merc, so I had to add this 49' with chromed resin Buick headlights and Chromed handmade Buick side trim, and custom body..
  23. Thank you very much @slusher and @ewetwo. Very nice of you both ?.
