  1. Oh my gosh. I love their Auto Union.
  2. I wasn't a collector either, until I had to somehow justify buying more kits .
  3. ?How many times have I done that myself.
  4. Like most people here, I don't just build, but I collect also. I probably have more than I can ever build, but just having them feeds something inside of me I can't explain. Periodically, I have a need to go find a certain unbuilt kit, and just sit down and enjoy going through it, and being amazed I own it. Several are "HOLY GRAILS", that I didn't think I would ever own, and yet blessed to somehow have been able to have these rare old kits, and have some Modelhaus resin kits still waiting for some love. I would love to see pictures of the model kits, all of you are proud of, and happy to own, built or not.
  5. WOW!!! - That is so beautiful, and I love convertibles. Beautiful work on the entire build.
  6. What a cleanly built 'Cuda. Love the color and how well your model is built. So nicely detailed ?.
  7. Great day 2 look with after market wheels and tires. Love the color and detail engine work.
  8. Your model came out great ? looking. I love these old kits by Tom Daniel. So much more can be done if you're a customizer. And look at all those awesome parts.
  9. @Claude Thibodeau Those were the years for cars weren't they? All the way back through the brass era - They were MAGNIFICENT.
  10. @Dominik Thanks for the great advise. I'll give it a try next time!!! ?
  11. Thank you Slusher. Much appreciated ?
  12. Thanks Rusty. I like the 2 and 3 tone cars just like you do.
  13. Thank you Bucky. It was fun!!
  14. This is a really nice resin body that I used a 1956 fort as a donor kit. I added the continental kit, with some modifications, and the Chrome roof band, and I also added the chrome strip along the top of the rear fenders and foiled them. Lastly, I detailed the engine bay, and did a little interior work, and of coaese I hinged the hood - FUN STUFF. I love this Mercury design and colors. I smoothed the door handles, but left the rest of the trim. Olds Fiesta, and wide whites finished the ol' girl off. This sure is fun stuff.
  15. This was a great resin body to build. No conversions or customizing. Hardly any cleanup or fitting. Forgot pics of the chassis, but not much to see. Came with the hood closed. No engine. Painted the car with urethane paints and after it was foiled, I covered it with several coats of urethane clear, even over the foil, and then rubbed it out. Always amazes me at how urethane paints have such a depth of color.
  16. Well @Dennis Lacy, that was a lifetime ago, and I'm not one for holding grudges against anyone. Let bygones be bygones, and move on to keep enjoying life, and being here now ?.
  17. @ATHU Thank you. I will post some of these here as an under glass in the future, including the Mercury wagon.
  18. Thank you my friend.
  19. That is soooo coooooool!!! Love it !!!
  20. @Tom Geiger These are both very nice. Thanks for "Busting into my thread." ??
  21. @Tom Geiger Boy would I like to see that !!
  22. Good morning @espo The old yellowed decals from ancient kits would have never worked, so I found some late model decals sheets from my stash, that had some of these old style pin stripe retro style decals, and I experimented a bit. What worked was, I laid the decal on, let it dry overnight, and then the next day I sprayed Testors #1260 Dullcote to cover the whole body, and you get what you see. Did the hood decal, the same way. Experimenting helps a lot. I hope that helps and works for you.
  23. I saw this car on a magazine cover, and brought that magazine home with me. It took me years to get to it, like most projects, their waiting in line for some personal LOVE. The first thing I did was chop the top, and then opened the doors and added some mini-magnets, so I could hear the "SNAP" when the doors closed. I ordered all the engine parts I needed from Replicas and Miniature, and stripped all the other engine Chrome parts, and sprayed everything with Spaz Stix Mirror Chrome, so they would match. The front of the car was modified with 1941 Chevy truck headlights and the top of the grill frame was given 3 sorta spears, like on the cover car I put er' all together, and I hope you like my ol' girl.
