  1. Thanks guys. Much appreciated ?.
  2. Can't remember who I got this kit from for sure. I think R&R Vacuum Craft. It's a curbside. No opening hood or engine. It needed some work, and a few pieces like taillight were no good, so Modelhaus provided everything I needed. All in all, thought, not a bad kit. It just needed a bit of help. In the old day the body script and emblems were the first thing to go, but now days there is a beauty in those emblems and scripts, that I can really appreciate, so I left them all on and foiled them. I love the front grill/bumper, and all of the rear end, so I chose a color I thought would bring out all the beautiful shapes and curves. To me the 1961 Dodge is just beautiful..
  3. @Claude Thibodeau My friend, I have just been passionate about this hobby many, many years, and want to show the younger generation what can be done, if your willing to develop the skills it takes to build something beautiful. It took me many years, to build up to where I am now. I found out how much persistence paid off ?.
  4. I LOVE IT!!!' Who knew a 4 door '90 Taurus could be so up to date Like others, I love the flat red and the matching wheels. Great imagination and skill.
  5. @toled What an incredible model. Your presentation is very professional. Detail work is fantastic, and the colors of the exterior and everything under the body panels, gives just the right contrast - simply beautiful.
  6. @Claude Thibodeau my friend. That's so kind of you. You make me laugh . I'm just an one of the guys having fun sharing my builds, and lovin' everyone else's beautiful builds also. A huge blessing for me to be here!! ?
  7. ....and pieces. I started this with a R&R Vacuum Craft resin body, and an AMT Edsel Pacer kit, that I used to make one body before Jimmy Flintstone came out with his resin version of this Edsel Roundup wagon, which is slightly different than mine. The difference is the door handles. His breaks up the chrome trim on the doors, and I liked the way mine came, just enough to be below the chrome trim, so as not to break up the nice flow of chrome. Probably lowered 3/4 " to 1", in 1 to 1 scale. The other difference is that his bodies have the chrome trim line on the door and rear quarter fin and body, molded in place, where mine had no chrome trim lines. So I had to eyeball the door and rear quarter trim with Bare Metal Foil. No shaky hands or bad eyes allowed here. I just needed a sharp new blade and the right lighting. I can't remember how many times it took to get this foil trim right. Having the AMT front end on was so nice for having the proper chrome pieces, as the R&R chrome was pretty crude, and no open hood, or under hood detail. It turned out to be a perfect match. Better than I had hoped for. Anyway, here's some starting pics with the 2 bodies to begin, that help tell the story. If you notice in the assembly pics, of the 2 pieces going together, the lower part of the front fenders don't match, so I cold bent the lower part of the AMT fenders until they matched.
  8. Nice video. Just got done looking at it. To bad the windshield fought you so bad. Still looks mighty nice though.
  9. @slusher Thank you. I so appreciate your compliment ?.
  10. I'm kind of a new guy here, and hadn't seen any of your work yet. This is very, very nice. Love the detailing, colors and stance. VERY CLEANLY built and presented - BRAVO!!
  11. Thanks @Bucky Been a "putty thrower" since I was a little kid. Love customizing and doing body work with different fillers for a long time. Some things ya just gotta do. Love it. Dave
  12. I love these ol' 1/32 scale hot rods of the past. A '32 roadster high boy was the first model car I ever built. Your box art build is just beautiful. Great work Bob. ?
  13. MY friend @Bernard Kron I just love your style of building, the quality, and your photos have always been "Supreme". This era perfect T-bucket is no exception. Beautiful colors for contrast, and great detail make this a real standout. Nice to see you back, and thank you for sharing this latest build with us. Dave
  14. Everyone - THANK YOU for your kindness. What a wonderful life that we can share this hobby together all over the world - AMAZING!!!
  15. HI @Painted Black I'm sorry, but I haven't a clue other than the huge wheel set box I have, with several hundred sets I go through for the right style that suits me.
  16. @bisc63 Testors Ford Grabber Orange, with 3 coats of clear. Beautiful color isn't it??
  17. @Doug 1061 Thank you so much my friend. It was fun building it.
  18. This is another car I built around that fabulous gun-sight grill. Seems to be a theme of mine I've noticed, to build a car around a certain piece that just "Grabs" me. The first thing I did was order this bumper/grill from Modelhaus, and then hit Ebay for the 2 kits. The last 2 construction pics are about cutting the assembly of the front inner fender wells, radiator core and firewall from the '69 body in one piece, and using it to fit the underside of the '70. I think that's right. Switching parts is confusing sometimes, trying to describe it. Oh yeah. I did make some of the body script decals too, and I put in a '68 mustang rear window frame from from a donor kit, so I could use the rear window louvers. No construction pics of that. Mustang rear window is a bit narrower, but still works. The "Billboards" on the tires are after-market. I bought about a dozen of probably every manufacturer from that era. And the tires are just the perfect size in soft resin. Little fun details to enjoy. I love the lower half of the '70 Mercury, and the roof of the '69, so why not combine them? So I did.
  19. @Tom Kren WOW !!! I just love this new style of car building we are seeing at car shows, and in car magazines. Yours is a kind of a retro-style, contemporary look with the under-stated monochromatic paint, black wires, and an aggressive low stance. Beautifully built and presented here ?.
  20. @ZTony8. Could be that too. Never thought of that one ?.
  21. @1959scudetto The cab and trailer both have air ride suspension built into the 2 chassis. Mainly built for salt flat runs with those 2 supercharged and turbo charged Allison's behind the cab, but I built it to be a drag truck, or for show also, or something to have fun with on the street when the air bags are filled. Nothing but my crazy imagination run amok. Sometimes I don't know when to stop a project, and this one sorta got otta hand ?. Forgive me, if it's a bit too much. The main color is called "Southern Bell yellow pearl." How do you pass up a name like that??
  22. @TooOld Thanks Bob. I do appreciate that. Dave
  23. Thanks guys ?. At the time I built it I was in the mood for something a little "GOOFY."
  24. Thanks guys. Hey @Zippi Mostly trying to figure out where this goes when I do share it. I guess I know where it belongs now ?.
  25. Would this custom truck go here, or in trucks???
