  1. This build is looking awesome. Probably a little late, but Netflix has a series called Car Masters where they built a replica of the Futura.
  2. Batman called, he wants his car back. ?
  3. What espo said! ?
  4. Just watched Jay Leno’s video on this car. And yeah, it sounds like a race car. :^)
  5. The cracked seat and stained bed are excellent touches. ?
  6. You build some great looking vehicles. ?
  7. Thanks Dood, I’m glad I stuck with it. I know it’s only plastic, but it does cost money and it goes against my nature to throw it in the trash.
  8. Thanks Ken. In some photos I try to position the camera to show what it might look like from a 1:24 human perspective; in others it’s just for aesthetics. I’ve seen a number of photos on the net with left hand drive cars. Jay Leno has a right hand drive in his collection.
  9. First time painting with an airbrush?! I’d say you’re a pretty, darned-fast learner! You’ve made the return in style. ?
  10. Nicely done… in particular, the engine bay.
  11. Thanks Mario. That’s about the kindest comment a modeller can get. ?
  12. Awesome. Love the colour plus engine and interior detail. ?
  13. Thanks Dood. I was looking a little bleak close to the end, but once all the little chrome pieces are in place it's a neat looking car. Would probably look better in red.
  14. Awesome. Good luck. :^)
  15. That's cool. Did you have any fitment issues with either build? I assume they are quite similar.
  16. Very nicely done! You nailed the stance and the photography is cool. ?
  17. Gorgeous car. Paint and wheels are awesome.
  18. This is a super-nice build! Great shine and finish. ?
  19. Super-clean build. Nice to see it in a colour other than white. Great photography as usual. ?
  20. Excellent. Superb engine bay. ?
  21. Excellent! ?

Needed something easier after the challenging/frustrating Chevy Fleetside Build. Next up in the stash was this diminutive convertible from Tamiya. It wasn't one of their typical 'perfect fit' kits, but pretty darn close. Body colour is Tamiya LP-39 Racing White with a darkened Tamiya LP-21 Italian Red interior. Build Notes Made tire valves for the first time. Just cut some black insulated wire and painted the tips with some semi gloss black. Added a couple hoses and a few aluminum tape straps to the engine bay. Drilled out the tiny exhaust tips. There are no seat backs in the kit so I filled them in with styrene and putty as they can be seen from the rear. The front grill needed a little bending to fit flush with the body - no heating required This kit is known for having a very tight body to chassis fit. I didn't really have a major issue here. Best method is to fit the rear in place first, then pry the body open working your way to the front. I did have a problem with the hood touching the engine. I ended up cutting off the font mounting bracket from the frame so the frame could drop a little lower... it didn't completely solve the issue, but made it less noticeable. Over all a nice little kit to build. :^) Oh, did I mention how small this car is? Below is a size comparison with the smallish Lancia Stratos and Toyota Supra. 8^o
  23. Despite whatever issues you encountered during this build, it looks pretty darn nice to my eyes! :^)
