  1. I found that with molotow you need to use a little more than you might think. I always have the tip of the pen very covered in paint and i drag it on. Its like a very fine line between too much and perfect. Too mich and it will run If you get the right amounts it looks like real chrome. The body lines were done with molotow. Ignore that my picture taking skills aren't good
  2. fedex "delivered" my package 30 minutes ago. however, im home and i sit right by a window to the front door. nobody came. i call fedex to ask them if the driver maybe gave it to the wrong house, and they wont talk to me until i dont have it by tomorrow. i assumed it would be here shortly, that the driver just scanned a bunch at once, but i saw him drive by a minute ago...going way over the speed limit.
  3. thank you both very much for the help. would this be the correct resistor? https://www.amazon.com/8-Watt-Carbon-Film-Resistors-5-Pack/dp/B007Z7Q5QY/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=1%2F8w+power+rating+resistor&qid=1629169291&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011&rnid=2470954011&rps=1&sr=8-1
  4. I am looking to buy these LED lights to put on a model https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XPV4CSH/?coliid=IV5IMRBPCE99G&colid=Z5AFC41ZTR4O&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1 i want to use 4 of the orange ones and would like to light them with 1 switch. According to the chart, on the page, the orange is 1.8v to 2.0v forward voltage. I need to use really small batteries, so i was thinking of using the 3v disk battery. https://www.amazon.com/Duracell-Lithium-Battery-lasting-battery/dp/B0855FD9P2/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=15W7DWF18IETD&dchild=1&keywords=2032+battery+prime&qid=1629164122&rdc=1&sprefix=2032+batt%2Cautomotive%2C153&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExWUE1R09WSzM5Qk1FJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNTI1OTMxMjlVTzU4UUFJOFM1NCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMjk4MzI1M0MwM05QQTVZSlQzUCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU= here is where i get messed up. assuming that 4 oranges would need 8v total at the max range, would that mean i need to use 3 of the 3v battery and get a resistor to get rid of the extra 1 volt? is this accurate? if yes, can anyone tell me which resistor to get? i found this site, which looks like it is doing exactly what i am looking for (four LED in parallel. it looks like i need https://www.evilmadscientist.com/2012/resistors-for-leds/ or maybe i just have a 5th orange bulb and it would be exactly 9v if i assumed the 1.8v per bulb? i can run another bulb elsewhere and maybe i dont need a resistor is my logic right?
  5. That movie was so good. If anyone hasn't seen it, its top notch
  6. i used to collect small statues and stuff for star wars. i dont buy them anymore, but i still have them displayed and have enjoyed looking at them. today i was putting one away to put a different one up, and found that my statue's lightsaber was cracked in 2 places. unfortunately, this was a very limited run and i can't get a replacement. I would need to buy another statue on the 2nd hand market, but that is not really financially smart. unfortunately, i was not careful enough with it, so i have nobody to blame but me.
  7. the fan on my laptop started to make noise and now its not spinning enough to keep it cool. i called asus to get it replaced only to hear my warranty expired 3 weeks ago. its so annoying because it was a very expensive laptop and i was very surprised to hear they only had a 1 year warranty. i took the bottom cover off and cleared any dust, but it was generally very clean. i ordered 2 new fans (gpu and cpu) and will just replace them both at once since they were both a bit noisy, although one is more noisy than the other. i ordered some new fans from amazon and they will arrive on monday. they were just 30 dollars for the pair. looking on google, it seems they are very prone to this issue and commonly dont last even 1 year. unfortunately asus wouldnt help me out with this, even though its a common issue. they said i could mail it in and they would fix it, but i would have to pay for shipping both ways and the repair. the 30 dollars at amazon is cheaper for sure
  8. my very nosy neighbor happened to be outside when i was getting a package delivered from amazon. i guess the driver dropped the box instead of placing it down. she yelled at him, saying she was going to call amazon and report him. i guess the guy got mad and started to walk towards her and she started saying to come at her, she would call the cops on him. i guess he turned around and drove away after that. i didnt see it, this is just what she told me. in my mind, i was saying please stay out of my business. i dont care if he drops the box. i know they toss the box, kicked and generally not cared about the entire duration of the delivery cycle. him dropping it is not likely to make a difference. her yelling is only going to make the driver mad, and i live on amazon's service. everything i buy comes from amazon, and i dont need things to not show up because of this. honestly, if you are going to call and report the guy, just call them. nothing good comes from yelling at a random stranger
  9. i watched the movie SAFE with jason stathom. it was super dumb, all action and its story was super thin really didnt make a ton of sense at all. If i had to guess the story was written by an 8 year old and further fleshed out by a 10 year old.
  10. I tried to get my 2 nephews to do it and was working with them. They didn't even get as far as cutting the pieces from the sprue. they said why don't you build it and tell us when it is done. They couldn't spend 10 minutes, yet they go on video games for an entire night. I never bothered again. Other than video games, they have no interest in anything I was probably 12 or so when Nintendo came out and I liked it a lot but i always enjoyed building models more.
  11. i have been working from home since covid started, and i only went into the office for 4 days total. everyday, my cat comes into the room where i work and sleeps all day. i even made a bed for him in the room. yesterday i needed to go into the office for the day, and when i got home it was like my cat had not seen me in 10 years. he climbed onto my belly and would not leave. he sat with me until i went to bed. we lock the cats out at night because they cant act right. this morning when i got up, he was right back with me. he normally sits with me, but this is different. he was extra needy
  12. I haven't airbrush it but if i let it sit for two days or so, it dries and can be handled
  13. i have been looking for some new linen sheets or a quilted blanket. i have been looking at different sites, and the prices and reviews etc. i am over researching probably. however, i found that even though i am only visiting the websites, i am getting emails from the companies. i never once signed up for anything on any of these. just reviewing the sites, checking costs, shipping etc. i am sure they are somehow using the computer's cookies to get my information, like my email address. i dont see how this is allowed without me saying its ok. for each one that emailed me i have added them to spam, reported them using google's gmail spam as not signing up. additionally, any company that emailed me is automatically out of the running for me to purchase from them. i am sure my little purchase wont mean anything to them, but im standing to it. one of the companies that hidden grabbed my email offered me a coupon for 15% off. you think that will make it OK?
  14. i understand the times change and so do peoples preferences. however, an SUV with the mustang name is horrible and ford should be ashamed. if they wanted to call it the bronco, or the explorer or some other new name, then whatever. i dont care how fast it is, its not a mustang
  15. i hope walmart starts to sell models again. im so tired of paying top dollar and then shipping too. even places that have discounted prices become high once the 10+ dollars for shipping comes in. hobby lobby is the only store in my area (within 45 minutes) that sells car models, but they are so rarely updated. its like i can go 1 time per 6 months or so.
  16. that is a really good price
  17. i use it quite a lot. basically i use it to glue in glass because if you make a mistake you can peel it off of the plastic. I also use it for things like glueing door mirrors on, if there is not a hole or pin to put it on. It holds quite well and leaves no real issues on the clear if you make a mistake. with that being said, if the glass does not fit in place well and needs to have a little help (like if its needs to be forced a little for bad fit), mod podge will not work well. Its not strong enough. On my 78 amt bronco kit, the back glass did not fit well with the top because the top was a bit warped. no amount of mod podge helped. ultimately i held it in place with clips and used regular model glue. also, it smells bad and takes a long time to dry. its not something you can put in and let it sit for a few minutes. the instructions say 2 weeks to fully cure, i usually let it sit about 1 or 2 hours and then you can move the model again honestly, i am impatient on stuff, and usually causes me grief, but i will do the glass before i go to bed because otherwise i get twitchy with it and dont want to wait for it to cure before picking it up to check it or to try to continue on. overnight is plenty of time to continue
  18. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/attractions/epcot/mission-space/ also, we did this in florida disneyland. im not sure if there is the same in the california disneyland. i am pretty sure its this ride. it also mentions the two versions. it got us both really sickly, but neither of us actually got sick. this is the youtube of the ride. i clipped it from the spot of the actual ride. i think it is a bit different now vs when we went. going off of memory the ride to space was much longer. it felt like probably 4 or 5 minutes. also i dont remember the moon or space station thing or mars. they probably changed the video portion of it over the years. the video below reminds me more of the star wars ride. i am pretty sure this is the one, because it has the 2 versions, but again, this is very different from what we did as far as the video (going from memory).
  19. my wife and i went to disney on our honeymoon. we went on some space rocket ride that was supposed to replicate what a real rocket launching into space was supposed to feel like. they had 2 versions, one with lower G feelings and less stomach dropping stuff. the line for the lower G was much longer, so we went to the full version. they had a button that you could press if it got to be too much. we were able to make it through to the end without hitting the button, but i was really close to hitting the button. the feeling was so odd, once you hit the line into "space" the pressure you feel drops and your stomach drops and it is an instant relief. my wife and i felt very sick after the ride for about 45 minutes or so and soda settled our stomachs. i was the most interesting ride i ever went on and definitely was worth the sick feeling we had.
  20. the tamiya paint will definitely give excellent results. just make sure to prep the body by cleaning and mold lines, washing the body with dish soap and water, and then priming the body with tamiya primer. if you do 2 very light coats of paint in quick succession, just enough to cover the body with paint so it is completely covered with paint. then let it sit for about 30 minutes and do a "wet coat", which is a heavier coat. just short of thick enough to get it to run. honestly, you dont even need a clear gloss coat if you can get it right. the only issue i have with tamiya paints is they dont have a good amount of colors for cars from the 40s to 50s. i almost exclusively use tamiya spray paints. i am terrible at taking pictures, but i can confirm you can get very great results. just make sure you dont buy the PS line (for polycarbonate bodies). you should be looking for TS line.
  21. is the mud paint or some kind of weathering product?
  22. truly amazing. it is really breathtaking and really inspiring. you should be very proud of this is this the amt or revell/monogram?
  23. i watched the trailer of this it looks great.
  24. this is probably it. i was holding it close to get the paint onto the side of a piece, so i was holding it closer than normal and at a weird angle. i didnt think of this at all.
  25. maybe i didnt shake it enough. i just got the can so im not sure how long it sat.
