  1. Yes, I know this too well. Thats why I'll lay a coat of clear before sanding
  2. Oh and hawaii tap water is heavy in minerals etc so that might be something too? We get water spots very easily
  3. These are some pictures from a few days before, with the first coat of clear. It looked really good and the spots came out afterwards. Also using a food dehydrator I only think its tarnishing because back when I was a kid my gold cars would tarnish because I didn't use clear Wondering if I should clear the car without washing it beforehand. I always wash and use hair dryer to remove dust, etc. If there's a better way I'd love to try. This is why I rarely 2 tone cars too
  4. Anyone know why I'm getting these reactions with gold cars? Doesn't matter what brand paint. This is Tamiya rattle can but its happened with Rustoleum too. The only thing in common is Mr Hobby clear. I think the gold may be tarnishing.. I would spray color, let it dry. Wash with dawn and clearcoat, wet sand and more clear. It looked perfect for a day or two at the end and these came up Kinda bummers but I'm not gonna redo it
  5. But with the Gofers, you get the regular front tires too
  6. The side panel on the original box claims working front suspension. I dont see how it would work I always thought this kit looked really cool though. Nice to see the posable wheels
  7. You shouldve hid the other 3 so they'll be there for you to buy them haha
  8. Are they any good? Anything to be aware of?
  9. From what I see, they're 3d printed bodies. He has a YouTube channel ( "too many projects") so you can take a closer look at some of them
  10. Ah I was wondering if anyone had one of these in hand. Is it near production kit quality? /fitment? Looks really good
  11. @Katsusaucecheck it out. bump for a cool tip
  12. 3d scale parts has sombreros but a little pricey. Im surprised nobody else makes them at this time
  13. Hey guys, I acquired a collection from a friend and the kits suffered some tire melt, but I removed the tires and appeared to be in good shape. So my question is, Can I reuse the tires on new kit wheels? Like is there a point where the tires are done leaching out its chemicals? Can I use resin wheels on these tires without bare metal foil, epoxy coat etc?
  14. Its okay because a bunch of stuff hasn't come out yet here in hawaii anyways.. only recently got the full detail nova wagon
  15. Silver nail polish topped with tamiya clear red. Built from the current 64 olds convertible over a rat packer nova chassis
  16. Here's hoping for the lowrider parts too
  17. Does anyone currently offer a flat hood for the nova AWB kits? The wagon hood doesn't work so good but worst case I guess ill use the middle section. Thanks
  18. Its not. I was wondering if mpc modified a mold for something else way back in the day This was from the last issue from around 8 years ago. I just painted the whole pillar chrome. I'm sure the new one will be same especially due to the box art.
  19. Yeah I bent and filed a lot, lucky my build was patina so it wasn't an issue peeling off the body multiple times. I had to superglue the chassis so the car wouldn't sit so high. I didn't have nearly this much trouble building the 67 coupe in high school. I wouldve figured the front half is same
  20. I'm pretty sure the nova is a brand new kit, it looks pretty modern, just done in the original style
  21. I'm working on one now, and what an awful kit. I clearanced the rear of the interior tub to let the chassis settle in better, and made tabs so the back of the chassis would have somewhere to locate, but when I assembled the interior and glass, there was more interference! When I set the rear of the chassis, the front comes out, when I set the front, the rear comes out.. Anyone ever figure out what to modify to make this car buildable? You'd never think that these are the same people that make the 63 nova wagon
  22. I sent him an email, I'd love to get an " ornery otto" kit
