  1. That cat’s lucky it’s cute. Great diorama, it really tells a story.
  2. Does anyone know the correct factory color for rear shock absorbers in the 1951 Chevy car lineup? I checked my books (no help) and I could only find pictures of aftermarket replacements online.
  3. Got the stovebolt 6 finished for my AMT ‘51 Chevy build.
  4. It’s a good location for sensory equipment, I’ll give it that. Though there sure are better ways to design around sensory equipment. Like you said, Mercedes integrated theirs quite well by hiding it behind the star, or in the case of the S class, copying the design of the grille over the sensor housing: Buick on the other hand seemed to be more inspired by the dome piece on ED-209:
  5. Today’s automotive designers when they contribute yet another crease to an already convoluted design:
  6. Could be, but even then, why not place the sensors behind that fake grille instead?
  7. Why? Why did they put that there? Also, the Buick lettering right above the windshield. Were they trying to emulate the destination boards you’d normally see on busses? I guess it’s comforting to know that Chevrolet isn’t alone these days when it comes to a shortage of brainpower in the design studio.
  8. The Porsche 6 in the rear helped justify its good looks as well. Judge Hardcastle’s GMC K1500 fenderside was pretty sweet too.
  9. I wonder if the Supra will have two releases, one molded in white and the other in metallic blue. Just like what was done with the Deserter (black and white) and Rescue Van (red and white).
  10. I fixed it for you, but it’s probably already outdated.
  11. Probably the same type of folks who complain to a veteran about the weather ruining their Memorial Day cookout. No. It’s a time to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. To give understanding and thanks to those who have served. Not to party with fireworks.
  12. Yeah, I noticed that too. It seems that the OTL is slowly becoming some TMZ sub forum with all the celebrity posts.
  13. A different hood and chrome hood insert would be needed as well, and the clear parts would need to be tweaked if the windshield and back glass on the kit are still undersized. GMC had its own version of the Cameo, called the Suburban Carrier.
  14. Sounds like just the right thing for a Cheech and Chong Impala build. ?
  15. Dodge offered the Street Van, as part of their lineup of Adult Toys, which also included the Macho Power Wagon and Ramcharger, Warlock, and a version of the D50 import I can’t name off the top of my head. They had a pretty catchy (and fitting) jingle in the Adult Toys commercials as well. The original Street Vans came with metal badges on the fenders that had a rainbow pattern within the script. Later vans had a metallic decal for a substitute. Now you’re talkin’. Roof ribs too. They should’ve never removed them from the tooling. I believe the hood used to be a separate piece as well. Also, how cool would it be to see this bad boy again?
  16. Spent some time this evening making the MPC ‘84 GMC a little more... palatable. A little more sanding and she’ll be ready for some side trim.
  17. I forgot that VW Group bought Navistar. Are Paccar and Oshkosh the only American-owned heavy truck manufacturers these days?
  18. If bullet holes in a wadded up Poncho gets you guys in a twist, wait until you hear about Cash for Clunkers, or any hollywood production made in the 70s, 80s, and 90s when it wasn’t sacrilege to wad up a numbers-matching Z-28 to get a good action shot.
  19. I wonder if the new kit will come with splitter guards.
  20. GMCs too, naturally. I was watching a GMC promotional film from ‘77 the other day. The narrator/presenter claimed that the fuel tank being on the passenger side was to help counterbalance the weight of the driver. Although the optional second tank was on the driver’s side.
  21. Well as long as everyone’s giving suggestions for the squarebody tooling, here’s another. If you tool up an auxiliary fuel tank that fits on the driver’s side of the chassis plate as a separate piece, the builder would then have the option of one tank or dual saddle tanks.
