I see you're moving right along Paul...lookin' good
will enjoy watching your progress with this model
howz your dad doin'...do ya let him sniff some glue and/or paint once in awhile?
Seeing you build this kit brings back good memories of when I built this kit when it first came out.
I picked up a "caddie engine" conversion for it as well, have no idea were from
had to remove a lot of resin to make it fit
I became a big fan of Briggs Cunningham and his race cars.
Saw all of his cars at Laguna Seca (Monterey Historics) before they shipped 'em all to Florida
good luck and I'll be watching your progress on this rare car
Yep, I seem to hang onto my '32 Fords, I've got a couple more in the planning stages
I've tried to sell a few on eBay, but just doesn't seem to be a market for'em...weird, heh!
I can make lunch on Monday or Tuesday next week...
Inspiration came from a car featured in Rod & Custom Magazine...
chopped windscreen and removed the top from the speedwagon
used the Hemi from the 5-window 32 ford
induction/exhaust provided by Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland
wheels/tires from Revell's 36 Ford Convertible re-issue
interior is Color by Boyd "Dusty Rose Pearl" covered with a Testors Semigloss clearcoat
exterior is a homebrewed mixture of decanted Tamiya Spray paints, a lil' purple mixed with a lil' blue
woodgrain is from the speedwagon decal sheet
thanx for lookin'
Looks like fun @ Sears Point, oops...I mean Infineon Raceway, heh Mike
no expense held on the car number I see
reminds me of a little Porsche 914 I autocrossed in the late 70's
Are you going to the Good Guyz @ Pleasanton this weekend?
Little more progress...
for lack of cockpit detail in conversion kit, decided to put a Mario Andretti driver figure in the car.
almost done...just need to install front suspension, finish Mario's helmet, install engine/tranaxle/rear suspension and rear wing
thanx for lookin'
Got the red painted, Tamiya X-7...close match to decal sheet
IndyCal decals added and clearcoated (MM Ultra Gloss Clearcoat):
back to the bench
thanx for lookin'
That is an excellent kit and it has been around for quite awhile
you can build numerous variations of trucks using this as a base kit
I've built a stock and a modern street rod from this kit.
most recent build was a 1954 chevy pickup using a resin conversion kit from SJS (no longer in business, dang!):
good luck and have fun
No, the decal sheet does not include the tiny little hood ornament "thing"
I have not been able to get a close up photo of it...not easy finding pictures of these cars
No, I have to build this one myself!
The reason your elves won't work with resin is due to their workers union:
the Elves Model-building Union...EMU, does not permit them to work with resin. EMU considers resin not only a hazardous substance, it also causes elves to hallucinate...
