It has to do with reference photos...I have yet to see any photos of rear wheel tubs on these cars. without reference photos (and its been years since I've seen one of these cars) i wasn't aware they even had rear wheel tubs on them. William Bauer of BHP Enterprises might have more knowledge on this, he really likes TransAm cars and has researched them to the Nth degree. thanx

Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland has the tires and wheels your looking for. Norm has a TransAm kit including the wheels, tires and racing seat He does not have a web page, but his stuff can be found at several places
-
Boy, you're not kidding on this kit being fragile...40 year old plastic snaps fairly easily Especially the rear suspension/wing strut assembly

finally got around to playing with this model...along with the Raybestos TransAm Mustang got it cleaned up and started painting and assembly had a few broken and missing parts... replaced the missing/broken wheel lugs with a miniature screw and nut simuliar to the real thing: built a small vacuum form machine and wella...new glass and in scale, also: tires and wheels...from the photos I've seen Bruce ran unpainted centers on his wheels: body cleaned and painted w/Scalefinishes "McLaren Orange" and decals from IndyCals: chassis, front suspension, engine (plumbed & wired) ready to go...just missing rear suspension having to resin cast the drive shafts, only had one good one to work with: kinda gettin' an idea on how things will fit... back to the workbench... thanx for lookin'
-
progressing along... tires w/ Shaboo dry transfer "Goodyears" and BHP wheels: kit chassis w/BHP goodies added and painted: BHP body painted and decaled: both body and chassis awaiting to be joined: thanx for lookin'

Picked up the BHP Transkit for the 1997 TransAm Mustang from William Bauer at the Sacramento NNL last fall. Already had the Competition Resins body and Slixx Decals for Dorsey Schroeders Raybestos Mustang. The BHP Enterprizes resin cast mustang is "nuts-on" and the detail is much nicer than Competition Resins version. Hope to have this done by the NNL West in February for the "Racecar" theme table. Gonna sit it next to Brendans a few other TransAm Mustangs that will be there. Picture of Dorsey's Mustang: BHP Enterprises kit: Base kit: Lower body is BHP's...upper body is Competition Resins Slixx Decals: Parts is parts: Quick Mock up... Stay tuned, more to come...thanx for lookin'

When added to a gloss acrylic paint it will de-gloss the finish by varying degrees, determined by the ratio. anywhere from semi-gloss to flat I have used it without any problems with different brands of acrylic paints besides Tamiya mostly used for brushing...haven't tried air brushing if I need a flat finish and it involves spraying something, I spray the gloss color, then i whip out the "Dullcote"
-
Impressive my friend... I just love your imagination, design and craftsmanship in your models you have always been my inspiration lookin' forward to seeing them all in February c'ya curt
