Nice and clean build, good choice of color. ?

Somehow I missed that one. Great model and when dodge introduce this model, my first thought was, finally a worthy successor of the late 60's line. Great build.

Ford C600
happy grumpy replied to happy grumpy's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks to all , Johnny, You have a keen eye for details, not many people noticed that. A shame that AMT never fixed this, a simple decal would have been an improvement. I simply drilled out the vents and added very fine pieces of stretched sprue, a little black paint for shadows. Simple but effective. Nice catch BTW. regards, -
Thanks Bill, I use tamiya panel lines, it flows nicely, I also use a fountain pen to apply it. It works great for me. I use either black brown or gray depending of the base color. You want contrast but not too much hope this answer your question

Simple kit but perfect to put on a shelve. Box stock. The paint is Tamiya acrylic Titanium gold with a few drops of copper and metallic brown. Ts 13 to top it off. I like to build those oldies, they maybe simple but they look great. thanks for looking.

supercool Cobra. The first photo could be the cover page of a car magazine. Really gorgeous.

‘78 Dodge D100

Excellent weathering, you picked the perfect color to show the rust. The rust , grime and dents make it a perfect used truck. This my favorite body style dodge pick up. -

That's an awesome build. At this scale , it certainly could pass for the real thing. Nice photography too. -
Now that's something we don't see everyday. Very cool subject. I like the discrete livery. Great work on the mods.

1967 Ford F-100 4x4
happy grumpy replied to Mercuryman54's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Great looking Ford, beautifully photographed too. I build more and more models using Fireball tires, they look so real and they fit on almost any wheel. Outstanding job ? -
Paul, I use Tamiya panel lines, this model was done when I stated to use the stuff , nowadays I tend to use light brown for light colors and black for darker colors, I think that while still a nice model , i should have used light brown for the panel lines to lessen the contrast, ah well, that's how we learn , right ? BTW thanks for the kind words.

Thank you all for your comments, I really appreciate it.

This is a recent tooling and it shows, the build sequence is a little different than what I am used to but the instructions and design make it easier. The first photo was my inspiration for this build. These were not designed to look good but for functionality. Somehow , I find them to have a certain appeal. I guess I'm a sucker for odd ball vehicles. thanks for looking,

Thanks guys , for this one I used Tamiya gray primer, their primer is really fine it lays smooth, I don't have to sand. For lighter colors I use their white primer. A little pricy but well worth it IMO. Thanks, Agreed, this one is on my must have list.

A simple but fun kit. I must have build at least 6 of these when I was younger, this is the only survivor that I rebuilt recently. The color is Tamiya TS 44 brilliant blue. Probably never offered in this color, but I think it looks cool. The only thing I might change are the wheels and tires , Fireball Modelworks Mopar Rallye wheels would look great on this. Regards,
