Another returning to the hobby
happy grumpy replied to Kent_Frazier's topic in Welcome! Introduce Yourself
Welcome back Kent. -
That is quite an upgrade. Excellent work. Modern kits offer a lot of possibilities for these old Jo-Han kits. They may be lacking in details but their bodies were spot on. I like the underside treatment. The exhaust pipes are very realistic.

Good ol galaxie. Great job on the paint and that trim is super clean.

From the looks of it, your skills are still perfectly fine. Nice and clean. The black/red combo is a real classic.

Very nice take on the Mustang. I like this model and the monochrome gray is perfect for a sleeper.

Well you built a very nice little truck there Harry. Everything is so clean. Despite all the troubles, you ended up with a real nice Chevy. -
Beautiful piece. The set up is perfect for as it shows the car in it's natural habitat. The weathering is spot on.

Moebius F 250 w/camper.
happy grumpy replied to happy grumpy's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
thanks James. Thanks Tommy. Thanks Chuck. Yes , you would see a lot of these back then in camping parks. Thanks Keith. Thanks Mike. Thanks Andrew. Thanks Chris. Thanks Jeff. Looking forward to build those. Thanks Carl. Thanks Ricky. The paint is bright red Tamiya (TS-49) Thank you Oscar, Moebius kits go very well together but because there were so many warped parts, it complicated the process but in all it turned out ok. Thank you Steve, The color is Tamiya bright red TS-49. The camper was done from mostly photos from the web and a very nice side drawing which I blew up to 1/25 scale for reference. Thanks Matthew. -
I have build a few of these but this one was real hurdle, a lot of parts were warped, frame chassis, box hood , I suspect the parts were removed too early, some of them were like yellowish. The camper is scratch built using mainly evergreen styrene and aluminum tubes for the ladder, I wanted to make this as an old beaten up camper fitted over a brand new truck. Definitely not my best work but, hey, win some , lose some, right? Anyway here it is , warts and all. It took a lot of CA to hold all those warped parts and if that glue ever gives, this kit will pop in all directions. Warping aside, my main gripe with this kit is the headlight bezels, how could they get this so wrong? I guess there must be a reason for it. Anyway, Moebius has got it right more times than not ,so , fair enough. I'm just glad they did those beautiful kits. As usual, thanks for taking the time.

Sweet little Ford. You nailed it. -
Great model, great car and great job on putting it together. I love the color combo.

Beautiful build. The 90's taurus is probably my favorite car of that decade. It looks just as good today as it did back then. Awesome job on the build and photography.

This is a challenging kit for sure, I've had this kit for 6 years and I keep putting off. You did a great job on it. The colors look great and the interior is awesome. Might give me the push to start mine.
