AMT 1962 Impala Convertible: A great kit with flaws!
happy grumpy replied to Supernurd's topic in Model Cars
Awesome all the way. A red Impala and a red interior. Doesn't get any better than that. Excellent detailing . -
You managed to do a very good job on beautiful kit. I have built it and I confirm that the most difficult part of this kit is the trim. Lots of delicate parts . Once you cut them from the sprue, it's very hard to trim the spot where they 're attached to the sprue. I think they went a little overkill on the trimming side. They should have molded with the body. Foiling would have been easier I think. Despite the issues your model looks really nice. This car is such a classic.

Great job on the Ranchero. The wheels are a perfect match.

Awesome build David. That color combo is just beautiful. Long live fat fenders.
-
Great job on the firebird. Very nice color.

A well designed kit and easy to build. A nice departure from some of my recent builds. No issues at all. Not much to say about it, paint is Tamiya silver leaf coated with TS13.I also built the Italeri kit (AMT now) not as good as Revell but builds up to a nice model. Not as detailed especially the wheels. I will post it eventually. As always ,

She's a real beauty Craig. I haven't started mine yet but looking at yours it sure puts pressure to start it. -
Awesome build. The hi vis green makes it pop. I have that kit on order. I will start building as soon as it arrives. Your background is very cool.

Your take on it turned out real good despite the issues.

Nice and clean build. Color well suited for a Lambo . Those cars are intimidating.

Thanks Harry.I have come to enjoy photographing models as much as building them. Thanks Ken Thanks Doyle. Thanks Hanjo. Thanks Bill. Thanks Robert. Thanks Chris. Thank you Bob. Thanks James. Thanks Lee. There was a lot of missing parts so I quickly put together a small block chevy but I did not really detailed it. I kept the inline six for another project. Thanks David. Not the easiest kit but after building 4 of them I find it easier to avoid the major issues. I would not recommend this kit for a beginner. Thanks David. Appreciated. Thanks Tom.

Great looking Buick and I really love that color.

What a great way to see how your skills improve over the years by building the same model and putting them side by side. The former already looked good but all those years make a big difference. I'm at a point now that my experience and skills have greatly improved over the years but ,halas ,with age , my shaky hands and eyes don't always follow my instructions, but the fun is still there. Great job on both models and I agree those old monogram kits are still a joy to build.
