It is, 'cept with the USA-1 decals which Round2 has the licensing to reproduce: AMT introduces a 3 in 1 ’63 split-window Corvette kit inspired by USA-1’s Everett Jasmer. While the kit can be built in stock, custom or racing versions, the instruction sheet shows the parts Everett would use in building the USA-1 dream Corvette! The kit also features a large decal sheet complete with patriotic USA-1 markings!• 1/25 scale, molded in white• 3-in-1 format with parts for stock, custom or drag versions• Pre-lettered drag slicks• Multiple engine intake options• Clear red taillights• Stock & custom wheels• Large decal sheet with full color USA-1 graphics• ALL NEW USA-1 PACKAGING

If it ends up like the Paddy Wagon, it will be available to all us plebs, too.

Cosmoline: What Paint Color 2 Simulate
Casey replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Testors gold and steel in the little 1/3 ounce glass bottles will get you close, and if you can add a little flat clear to knock down the sheen, even better. -
I would suggest you start with the Revell 1/25 scale Chevy van, which is already the shorter wheelbase, Doug.

Has Anyone Built This Kit? Quality? MPC 1960 Corvette

Has Anyone Built This Kit? Quality? MPC 1960 Corvette
Casey replied to Quick GMC's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
No idea, but that's a good question. I don't see the metal springs mentioned on the above sales flyer, but IIRC someone mentioned in the Round2 "What's a Hanger Shot" blog post comments section that RC2 included them, so that might be a good sign that Round2 will, too? It seems like something they would take the extra effort to include, and I don't think the kit include any other front springs, so maybe they have no choice. You could always e-mail Round2 and ask them, too. -
Has Anyone Built This Kit? Quality? MPC 1960 Corvette
Casey replied to Quick GMC's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
You can't lump any one manufacturer's kits together and judge them all as one group, as quality varies throughout each companies history. Mark B. can provide the specifics if he didn't already do that elsewhere, but this kit is rooted in the '60s, so don't expect '90s Revell-era crispness and molding quality. That said, Round2 has done a very good job of ensuring every kit they reissue is molded cleanly, so I wouldn't worry too much about excessive flash to clean up. -

It's a 6 in 1 kit, and was one of MPC's best. It's due to be reissued within the next few months, too. I'm 99% sure it was mentioned in the 2015 Round2 releases topic in the Kit News & Reviews section. -
"Stinger Hood" Revell `67 Camaro_Search
Casey replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
The 1/25 Revell '67 427 Vette kit has the "Stinger" hood and it's usually a $10-$12 kit on eBay, plus you get the BBC to boot. -

Good to see new product from MCG. Their stuff is always top notch and well worth the cost. -
Problem contacting Micro Nirtro overdue purchase
Casey replied to Jeremy Jon's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
If the buyer choses to "let them (the seller) talk you into" giving them more time to complete the transaction and lets the 45 day PayPal grace period elapse without having received what they paid for, the buyer now assume 100% of the risk and gives up all protection. -

Nobody should wait longer than the 45 day grace period when using PayPal. I've had to use it myself when a resin part I paid for didn't come close to shipping after 40 days had elapsed, so I filed a refund request and got my money back within a few hours. I won't get into the details of this topic, but buyer and seller must understand and abide by PayPal's terms, and when one fails to do just that within the 45 day window, the buyer has the ability to get her/his money back. Once the 45 day window has passed, the buyer loses all protection. -
Me three. Over a decade and not one lost. Another reason I decided to pay the annual $30 for an unlimited account. No worries about using up the allotted bandwidth, either, which was my issue (as opposed to running out of storage space). Moving all of the images I'd uploaded was not exactly appealing, either.

Dave M (or anyone else in the know), is there news to report regarding this kit? -
My crystal ball shows the Lindberg '37 Ford Convertible kit might be re-issued soon...

Such a Midwestern thing to say. If the home has a basement and the humidity is controlled, definitely store them there. Any attic in VA would likely be too hot during the peak of summer when the temp climbs well over 100* F up there. The less heat, less moisture, and less light that reaches the box/parts, the better.
-
RC2 reissued it in 2003, so it's only a matter of time before Round2 reissues it again.
-
That's a good idea. I will try to check in on Saturday and Monday evenings for sure, but will also peek in on weeknights when I'm browsing the forum.

Stock 1/16 Scale 34 3 Window in Resin
Casey replied to fractalign's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I think offering just the stock body parts-- body shell, "glass", trim-- would be a good start. I can't recall if the kit's fenders, grille, hood, and hood sides are stock (I want to say they are), but just about everything under the skin of that kit is so '80s, it might be better to leave the rest up to the builder. The engine, wheels, and tires are the easiest things for builders to source, so I would focus on the body parts and a stock frame. -
Do a search- there's a topic in the Drag section with all the pertinent info...and more.

November 2015. Honestly, these kits are still fairly easy to find on eBay, etc., especially if you don't mind the lowrider version and plan to replace the wheels and tires anyway.
