  1. If you're going to use the image to eventually print decals, you want as large a resolution as possible. The more pixels per inch, the better, provided the output device (printer) can accommodate that large of a resolution. For posting images here or elsewhere on the web, 72 pixels per inch is a good standard. This explains a bit more/better: http://opusdesign.us/what-is-the-ideal-image-resolution-for-print-web/
  2. What size are they now? And what's telling you they are too big?
  3. It looks like there's a cut out in the bottom half of the tail light bucket, but it's hard to tell if there's a provision for casting light upon the license plate?
  4. The recess which is filled by the spare tire when the tailgate is in the lowered position? *crunch* I'm not arguing they could've done things differently, and for the record I agree both the tail light and license plate positions could've been resolved in another way, but they weren't. Why not?
  5. You are overlooking something else which needed to be fully visible with the tailgate lowered...
  6. Yes, Eric posted a picture in the first post of this topic: I suspect the Firestone Super Sports tires shown on the left are not coming back, but I guess we'll have to wait and see when the kit is released.
  7. You should try the ignore feature for the whiners. Problem solved. You are exactly the type of person Round2 is targeting with these show rod reissues, Tye, so enjoy them. Round2 puts out a good variety, but they can't please everyone, so it's nice to see you and others appreciating what they do release.
  8. Yes, the outer half of the rocker panel is gone.
  9. Their use too bee.
  10. This is the same problem with the AMT '69 Corvair-- 13" wheels and tires. The old 13" Firestone Super Sports haven't been seen in ages, so perhaps Round2'll include either the BFG Advantage or Michelin X tires when this is reissued?:
  11. The Flameout's front wheels are American 12-spokes, so they should be perfect for use on a vintage '60s Altered, etc.
  12. I don't think so, mainly because it's a reference list, and not really for discussing a specific kit or series of kits. I tried/asked for a reference specific section on the forum, but got shot down, so maybe General is the best place to put it? We already have the great tires topic there...
  13. Red '69 Camaro on the cover?
  14. Yes. I never got confirmation on the scale, but I am 99.99% sure they will be all new tooling and 1/25 scale. Only a few more months to wait. I suspect we'll hear something official announced this October.
  15. Ah, that would make sense. Thanks, Lee.
  16. As in it still uses the promo style chassis? I too am curious if Round2 located a missing insert or two for the body, or if they are backdating it themselves. Who's going to e-mail John G and ask?
  17. We get it. You don't like these kits. If you want to debate it and dump multiple pictures of kits nobody else was discussing, do it in a different topic. You've got plenty of topics discussing your tastes in models all around the forum, and probably one discussing these same kits already, so please do it there, not here in the Reviews section where people are trying to discuss specific kits.
  18. Definitely, but the ability to prove a certain number existed and are all now destroyed is the hard part. Even the auction qualified it's statement with "known to exist," which means they can't be certain how many still exist even if they know the number originally produced. Coelacanth.
  19. The first kit and review is here, so I'm going to lock this topic. Please discuss further at this linked topic: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=102624
  20. John, I swear Drag City Casting made this hood, too, so you may want to try sending Ed an e-mail.
  21. We've had this discussion here before, and I recall someone posting pictures if a '60s Chevelle 4-door sedan compared to a similar model from AMC or Ford, and they truly did look very similar, so this isn't a new thing. The auto industry in general isn't big on taking huge risks, especially when it comes to exterior styling, so there will probably always be many similarities. There are plenty of "modern" customizers doing excellent work, but to compare what was done in the '60s to what's currently being created is kind of silly. Not everyone liked the work of the Barris Bros., Starbird, Roth, etc. back then, just like not everyone likes Chip Foose, Jimmy Shine, etc.'s work today. It's all art, and opinions will vary. Nothing is good nor bad, it's just a matter of what each of us finds pleasing.
  22. Maybe you can recapture that thrill using your second/first/other account here on the forum?: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showuser=577 Long way to go, though, starting at seven posts.
  23. IIRC, it was something a race team started doing in the '60s, to make the car easier to spot for the team's sign holders(?). http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c6-corvette-general-discussion/2882175-question-about-the-history-of-grand-sport-stripes.html
  24. No, just the cowl induction hood. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=97789&hl=stinger#entry1342673
