  1. I don't think they're exactly the same, but the hull parts appear to be the same. The headers are different between the two kits, though. Now that I think of it, didn't you do a boat kit history/chronology article in one of the magazines, Tim? I wonder if that's a real piece of Mahogany included with the Go & Show boat, too, for use on the deck(?)?
  2. There can't be too many Kasier-Darrin kits out there...
  3. Goodbye spray cans. You ain't gotta go home, but you can't stay here anymore.
  4. I think the MPC 1/20-ish scale promo is the only one available. Here's the Revell Go & Show Drag Boat with trailer:
  5. I think we've already turned this topic into just that. Here's the mini speedboat offered in the 1/25 Revell "River Rat" Chevy Luv combo kit:
  6. Is it mounted under the floor, on the frame x-member?
  7. Those who enjoyed the linked assembly line video might enjoy this 'site, too: http://theoldmotor.com/?cat=11
  8. I don't know how or if the die-cast Revell Magnum and Charger kits are related, but it seems like they could be, much in the same way the '68 Mustang and '70 Challenger T/A/R/T kits are. Here's the "LARGE" die-cast Magnum: And the plastic Revell "Uptown" Magnum kit: I had the Charger "Uptown" version in my possession briefly, and it definitely passed the "feels like it's based on a die-cast" sniff test.
  9. ...and some MPC releases, too: MPC-796 1/25 Nascar 1971 Mercury Cyclone (Donnie Allison) $29.95 TBA MPC-797 1/25 Chevy Blazer Truck (Snap) (New Tool) $24.95 TBA MPC-798 1/25 1975 Dodge Dart Sport $29.95 TBA MPC-799 1/25 1974 Barracuda (Snap) $24.95 TBA MPC-800 1/25 1967 Mustang Ohio George Malco Gasser Car $29.95 TBA The Snap Blazer looks like the previously reissued Blazer kit from a few years ago, so maybe the "New Tool" label was intended for another kit?
  10. I wonder if the difference is due to the Magnum being offered as a die-cast model first? At least I think it was first.
  11. I think AMT issued the JoHan '74 Hornet F/C, too:
  12. I would guess mid to late '60s based on what looks to be the original style Revell logo. I saw a few others from the same era/series(?) in eBay recently- a Ferrari and a Jaguar. Love that box art.
  13. Was this Westcraft boat ever offered in another kit, or only in this AMT '64 Chevelle El Camino?:
  14. The Reggie Jackson issue was definitely molded in green. :
  15. You may want to send a PM instead, as Robert hasn't logged in since Sep 10 2012 @ 03:24 PM Maybe someone here has Robert's contact info, or maybe his account is set up to receive an e-mail message when he receives a PM.
  16. Bonus points awarded for use of cotton string, so it would be obvious the cars are being pulled.

  18. Jeeps are considered SUVs here (at least by me), for all categorization purposes.
  19. I don't know, but this might help a bit: http://www.rodshows.com/gnrs/2012/2012-gnrs-lindig.html Looking at the AMBR winners since 2006, I can see why this one took the prize. Five of the last six winners look dated already. Let's stick to discussing the car, please.

  21. I don't think so. I have only seen the Ardun heads in the Revell 1/25 '50 Ford Custom pickup kit and in resin/metal in 1/8 scale Maybe R&MCoM offers them, though?
  22. Or maybe he means the RB/manual trans combo, but I'm 99% sure the granny gear first NP-??? trans was available behind the RB-series big block. I'd actually prefer this kit doesn't return, and IIRC, Model King looked into refurbishing the molds and they were not in good shape, or at least not worth the time and money to refresh. The details are so lacking on these kits that you'd end up buying two or more additional kits just to make them look decent. RB-series engine from the AMT '71 Charger or Revell '68/9 Charge or '69 Dart, realistic off-road wheels and tires from another kit, decent solid axle suspension from elsewhere, and then you've still got the one-piece bed. If Moebius' upcoming Fords do well, the '72-'80 Dodge/Plymouth pickup and SUV line could be a future series, too.
  23. I was thinking that too, or at least a lot of cuts hands from all the sheetmetal handling, but then I noticed every stamping press has to be activated with two hands, even when there are two operators at one machine, so safety was taken into account. How'd you like to be the guy whose job it was to swab lubricant on the stamping dies all day long? I can't imagine how deafening it must've been inside that factory, though, especially with that row of stamping presses going all at once.
