It’s great to see that you built this rare and valuable old kit, and it came out great by the way. The colors look spot on. I have to wonder if round 2 will ever reissue this one

I got the roll bar done and the body ready for paint. I had to cut the rear cross member out of the chassis . I will have to move it forward to get the right wheel base

I totally agree the satin black finish the white headers the big slicks , and the nose down rake make for a nasty looking machine

This one is a good old kit bash using the AMT 33 Willy’s the AMT Vega wagon funny car . As for the engine I combined the short block from the Vega with HEMI heads and valve covers from the parts box. The rear wheels came from a AMT modified stock car with the big slicks from AMT’S parts pack . Some of the decals are from slixx and some are from smp . The paint is tamyia satin black . I made the headers from solder and aluminum tubing the velocity stacks are aluminum tubing. It took a little doing to get everything to fit under the narrow Willy’s front end , but all in all the funny car chassis fits really good. Until next time thanks for looking, Mike

I really like that injected flat head that would look great in so many things. A belly tank lakes car comes to mind.

This was created from the Atlantis kit with a couple of additional parts from the spares box. Which are a big block Chevy engine, front spoke wheels and tires are AMT double dragster . The rear wheels are left overs from Amt’s 40 Willy’s with MPC funny car slicks as they fill out the wheel wells better.The decals came by way joe at Freemont Resin’s the paint is some old r c car body paint I had laying around. How ever it’s not the right shade. I’ve built a couple of these Fiats now and I really like them. Thanks Atlantis for bringing this back out as l will definitely get a few more to keep in my stash . It’s also a great parts kit as the blown F E Ford engine will find its way into a jack christman comet , and psycho mustang project. Plus there’s all kinds of additional suspension parts to . Nice clean build up I really like the velocity stacks on that 409 and the front white walls. It’s got that 60’s vibe

I believe what I used is a long discontinued testors color called grabber orange a 1969 ford color. At the time I built this 13 or so years ago testors had a great line of factory colors like Hundoas maroon and Nausea blue just to name a few all were lacquers. Unfortunately the Testors company met a very sad demise of corporate greed. You might be able to get the color from Mcw . Although it’s not as convenient as going to your local hobby lobby. This week’s fuel altered update. Some progress on the Mondello Fiat and the Dorricott & Sheehan Fiat

I built this mostly from the MPC Winged express kit with a few additions the front spring perch is from the double dragster, the front leaf spring is from the Atlantis fiat. I used the taunna cover from AMT’s T parts pack , and molded it onto the winged express T bucket. The thin fuel tank behind grill frame is from the MPC bantam blast. The bell housing cover is also sourced from the bantam blast. I used resin 12 spoke front wheels from comp. Resin. On the tin work is tamyia gold the body’s metallic green is testors enamel. Decals are aging slixx as a few of them broke apart. All in all this was a real enjoyable build. As this was the second best fuel altered kit next to the bantam blast kit actually there both just as good. Until next time thanks for looking. Mike

That’s a great looking gasser you got there.

This is constructed from a mix of parts starting with the AMT T body parts pack. The frame is a combination of the double dragster fiat for the back half with front half of the single engine dragster frame. The front axle and spring are left overs from the Atlantis fiat. The roll bar hoop is made of 0.80 styrene rod. The 392 hemi is from the MPC bantam blast kit the headers are actually the hemi injector tubes from a couple of double dragster kits. The rear wheels are some left overs from the AMT 40 Willy’s kit with AMT pie crust slicks. The front wheels are from the MPC Winged Express warped with some spare AMT hollow Firestone supremes . The red paint on the bucket is Testors red enamel with wet look clear. The Tuanna cover is painted with a Krylon red to get a slight contrast. The decals are available from Chris Walsh . I did add the NHRA , and the welded strokers crankshaft decals from a random Slixx sheet. The reference photo is from an early 70’s issue of DRAG RACING USA. Until next time thanks for looking. Mike

I get the 63 vette kits at hobby lobby when they have 40% off

This is a build up of one of the 2 best altered kits of all time the mpc bantam blast . I used the blown big block Chevy from the amt 1963 corvette kit. Which is one great parts donned kit. The decals are slixx from 1997 , but they went on really nice as the earlier slixx decals from California usually do . The paint that I used is testors lacquer with wet look clear. The fuel tank is a spare part from the Atlantis fiat. Until next time thanks for looking, mike

Looking at this photo you might want to make a tube grill from some paper clips. In the day j c Whitney sold them for just about every make and model

It came out fantastic I just love the Willie figure . These cars changed weekly , and got banged up a little. Great attention to detail i like the back dating into the earlier version again well done .

It looks great those comp resin slicks look way better than the kit ones. I’ve had the same problem with some of the old slixx decals they’re getting up there in age , but then again so am I .
