Yea I’ll miss him big time I’m lucky to have quite a few sheets stashed away. I’ve learned over the years when you see decals you buy them. As it’s always easier to find the kit that goes with it. The same goes for resin bodies. Scale modeling by Chris , Billy Gooche ,model hause and woopiekat all come to mind. I sure I’ve missed a few . With the decals I can’t figure out why someone else wouldn’t be interested or able to print them from their files?

I really think they came from the amt hemi under glass kit

The great MPC Challenger funny car kit with decals from Jim heller tamyia yellow paint, and some leftover back wheels from grumpy’s pro stock Vega. These mpc funny cars are fast easy build and they look great. I think he ran this car around 1974.

For those to young to know Vegas were prone to blown head gaskets. That was the demise of our family Vega in 1976

This came out great I’ve been accumulating parts to build this one for awhile and you have provided me with the inspiration. Who’s decals did you use?

Thanks but there’s a reason I didn’t show the right side. With out woopiekat I won’t be able to fix it anytime soon -
Nice conversion that’s the first time I’ve seen the sedan without out injectors, and with the hood scoop

This is the MPC RAMCHARGERS Challenger funny car right out of the box. Topped off with Testors white enamel and Chuck Boerner decals. These mpc funny cars just fall right together real easy, and they make a great replica. There’s also a lot of cool aftermarket decals to fit this body

This is the excellent revell kit built box stock in testors white enamel with Fred caddy decals. This is a great building kit with lots of aftermarket decal options.

Even though I’m not a huge Buick fun there’s something about the box art that really pulls me in and makes me want one -

Seeing that Jim Wabils big W decal in the back window of the wagon lets you know it’s a tough competitor -
This is a box stock johan challenger funny car with testors white enamel and stang 1 forever decals. These old Johan funny cars were so good they pretty much fall right together with very accurate bodies to boot. Until next time thanks for looking. Mike

Sox & Martin 1964 A/FX Mercury Comet Caliente
M W Elky replied to Scott Eriksen's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Scott this is a great project theses are the same kits i bashed together for these comet builds. I hope these pics help you out . I got the resin hood from SMH hobbies. Unfortunately the Howard wheels are modelhaus and are no longer available, and I don’t know any other makers. The exhaust dump pipes are in the amt 62 belair super stock kit . It’s been awhile since I built this and the moebius comet wasn’t available then. I used the amt interior, but the moebius interior tub might be a better option. -
