I built mine using this same kit in the early 90’s , and I can remember spending days sanding the vinyl texture off that roof . Then the only available decals were from Fred cady which were drawn to fit the 1/24 scale monogram kit, and it two sets as the black paint job showed through yellow decals. All considered the amt / ertl kit has the most accurate body. The johan Sox & Martin pro stock cuda is a great donor kit for this project. As the chassis , interior tub fit like a glove plus there’s a pro stock dual plug hemi .

You’ve got a great looking old school gasser there. I think it’s one of the better amt tooling’s from the mid 70’s

Hi jeff those are all great builds . There’s a very satisfying feeling in repurposing the amt double dragster kit. I’ve always wanted to build the Ivo twin, and now I’ll know how. Thanks for posting

Here are some pictures of the bell housing on the small block Chevy parts tree and the scattershield and the two piece in and out box from the hemi parts tree . The Double dragster is a must have kit you’ll want to get a few just for parts -

Rodger that’s a great photo good times for sure. What drag strip was it taken at? -
We are living in the best time ever to build drag cars of all types . With all the reissues from round two and Atlantis . Along with the new awb mopars , and comet cyclones form möbius . Plus some aftermarket decals. I hope some young modelers read this and draw some inspiration . These small and relatively easy to build they lend themselves well to all levels of detail. The Atlantis fiat alone is a wealth of spare parts with two complete front axle assembly’s. The engines in this kit can easily be swapped out with the engines from amt’s double dragster kit. Which is a legendary kit full of spare parts. Then round two gives us the best altered kit of all the bantam blast . Oh and If you’re reading this round two the winged express would be a welcome addition.

AMT M&H Racemaster Dragster Slicks & Parts Pack Tires
M W Elky replied to Gregg's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I know that I’m really getting low on my parts pack slicks supply. It would be great to see all of them reissued . Some drag front tires would be great too. -
Wow you did some amazing detail work . It’s so cool that you built a modern day sling shot I really like it

I brought this one in 1988 as a Hot Rod magazine double kit. Then it sat in the box until about 10 years ago when the last release came out, and I could use the fresh set of decals. It’s a box stock build, and it sure looks great on the shelf next to the snake’s army monza . Until next time thanks for looking, Mike

These early short wheel base rail jobs are really fun to build. I really like your use of the poncho 4 banger power. You did a fantastic job please build some more
