  1. Thanks I fully agree the wheel well cut out are a little rough unpolished rear mags , and the nose high stance all lend to that look
  2. I can’t agree more . For some reason I like to build a couple of them every year around the end of February and early march
  3. I made this with the first release of the 55 Chevy sedan kit that included all the gasser parts from the nomad kit. The rear wheels were sourced from the amt 33 Willy’s kit , and the front wheels are from the old amt ertl 1970 Camaro. The white wall front tires are amt items from the parts box I got the decals from southern Motorsport hobbies. The paint is good old testors gold enamel topped with wet look clear . I made the headers from solder and aluminum tubing. Until next time thanks for looking, mike
  4. I think the nascar GM teams of that era ran Monte Carlo’s and Oldsmobiles
  5. Know that would make an interesting subject . I don’t know how well it would sell as a drag car only builder I wouldn’t be in for any, but it could be a big hit for the low rider builders along with replica stock
  6. This is an out of the box build with the only upgrade being the slicks which are from the AMT parts pack . The cover shot was taken at the winter nationals which is perfect for this time of year. Those snow covered mountains make a great backdrop. As you will notice the box is in rough shape as I purchased it from a little local gift shop that was in our town in 1978 with saved up allowance as I was 8 years old . The spectacular box art with the fire burn out just sucked me right in I had to have it. At this age I was still building snap kits needless to say at the time this kit was way above my skill set . At the time my dad was way too busy with work to take on a project like this. So In the box it stayed getting moved around from here to there until I was 48 years old as the original decals had gotten a large crease in them, and were not salvageable . Thanks to eBay I was able to find a newer reissue with usable decals. So here it is. I hope you all like the little back story. These Revell funny car kits of the mid 70’s were some of the finest ever made. At least in my opinion. Until next time thanks for looking ?, Mike
  7. All these mopars are coming along really nicely. I’ve got a real soft spot for the 64 and 65 dodge and Plymouths
  8. Today’s progress the pure heaven is on its wheels and decals are done. They were no easy task due in part to their age I guess, but I think they would have been tricky when they were new. All In all not bad for being 27 years old. The earlier slixx decals from when they were in California always seem to me like a better quality. As they work well with micro sol , and really settle down over the curves nicely. I also find that it’s best to have the water on the hot side. I like to use our electric tea pot to heat up the water then I mix In a little cold water from the tap, and a small squirt of dawn dish soap.
  9. Today’s progress the Nanook is on it’s wheels with decals started, and the pure heaven decals are started along with some chassis work
  10. Great dragster awesome color , nice choice of decals
  11. It looks like it covered the shaker hole pretty good
  12. The weekend update. The OTIE’S T and THE RED BARON Fiat are nearing completion
  13. I built mine using this same kit in the early 90’s , and I can remember spending days sanding the vinyl texture off that roof . Then the only available decals were from Fred cady which were drawn to fit the 1/24 scale monogram kit, and it two sets as the black paint job showed through yellow decals. All considered the amt / ertl kit has the most accurate body. The johan Sox & Martin pro stock cuda is a great donor kit for this project. As the chassis , interior tub fit like a glove plus there’s a pro stock dual plug hemi .
  14. You’ve got a great looking old school gasser there. I think it’s one of the better amt tooling’s from the mid 70’s
  15. Today’s progress the OTIE’S T is on its wheels
  16. Thanks it’s not quite done yet I still have to make the scatter shield and find some dry transfer decals for the door numbers
  17. Update the 10,000 rpm B altered is on wheels and almost done
  18. Wow Harold that’s so cool it’s the ultimate compliment. Thanks for checking it out.
  19. Hi jeff those are all great builds . There’s a very satisfying feeling in repurposing the amt double dragster kit. I’ve always wanted to build the Ivo twin, and now I’ll know how. Thanks for posting
  20. The 2 tone green looks fabulous. Nice job ?
  21. Work bench update wild Willy is almost done and I’m pretty far along on the 10,000 rpm T plus a couple more fiat’s
  22. Here are some pictures of the bell housing on the small block Chevy parts tree and the scattershield and the two piece in and out box from the hemi parts tree . The Double dragster is a must have kit you’ll want to get a few just for parts
  23. Fiat altered what’s not to love. Looks great
  24. Man that paint color. Just beautiful
