  1. Nice looking job on this great funny car kit
  2. You better hope they sell a lot of 69’s
  3. I’m with you all the way on a 62 galaxie hardtop or sedan would be most welcome However it should be a full kit with the same engine chassis detail that comes with the custom version of the 60 star liner . Add a pair of pie curst slicks tube headers. They should package it in the same type of box art as the super stock kits like the Dyno don belair , and decals the likes of Phil Bonner , jake king , or Tasca , or others. This would be a great selling kit opportunity round 2 . I know I’d be in for a dozen
  4. This is the fantastic mpc blue max funny car kit . The color is testors light blue enamel topped with slixx decals cut to fit the mpc body. Until next time thanks for looking ?. Mike
  5. That’s a really nice looking slingshot dragster I have a couple of these in my stash. May I ask what paint color did you use?
  6. That’s a beautiful build of a great kit. It makes for a nice gasser
  7. Thanks dan . The kit fit together fine. Getting a sharp paint line was the hardest part
  8. This was built straight out of the box in the early nineties. The paint color is testors champagne gold enamel ( now discontinued ) and black enamel. The kits decals were applied. Until next time thanks for looking. ? Mike
  9. Here you go a Z-11 427 it fits like a glove . Round 2 should do some Tom strum decals for the new 64 chevelle kit. For the drive train use the 62 bel air super stock kit
  10. This is the mpc grumpy’s toy hiding under testors lacquer and slixx decals. I made the front spoiler from the one in the amt 1970 Z -28 kit. It takes some cutting and filling to make it fit good. I added a parts box small block Chevy engine. I just picked out a easy to get paint color that matches the die cast funny car that’s in the magazine cover photo. Until next time thanks for looking ?. Mike
  11. This was made from a altered states resin stock height 1933 Willy’s body with a amt donor kit. The hemi is sourced from a amt parts pack. It’s painted in tamyia bright red with slixx decals . The square hole halibrand front wheels are resin pieces I brought off eBay. Until next time thanks for looking ?. Mike
  12. Thanks John , I actually built this about 10 years ago when the kit first came out. With decals I find that a lot of times theses small producer’s go out of business or someone passes away. Woopiekat had quite a few decals I would have liked to get. Then one day they were gone. Now I just get them when I see them even if it will be years before I use them.
  13. Google search southern Motorsport hobbies and look up yesteryear drag decals .They’re a good source they have a lot of different sheets.
  14. This is the revell 1962 impala kit which I converted to super stock trim by making a custom set of headers, and adding slicks. I also slightly modified the front suspension to give it a more aggressive stance. The decals came from mcw paint and resin which I believe are no longer available ? with decals you buy them when you see them as most are not mass produced. If they weren’t so expensive I would buy a second set just in case I screw up the first set.Until next time thanks for looking ?. Mike
  15. This started with the mpc hot rod mustang funny car topped off with decals from chuck Boener . The decals had to be cut down to fit the mpc body until next time thanks for looking ?, mike
  16. I built this out of the revell 1970 barracuda kit. I used amt wheels and slicks l crafted the headers from solder and aluminum tubing. It’s painted in testors white enamel with aftermarket decals. It’s a nice simple build. However I think the revell body is a bit on the chunky side with its dimensions. All in all it looks good on the shelf. Until next time thanks for looking ? , Mike
  17. I started out with the revell jungle Jim kit . With the rear wheel wings that were left over parts from the mpc blue max funny car. The paint color is testors lacquer with clear. The decals came by the way of the talented chuck boener . I swapped out the kit’s wheels , and the interior hat with some spares from a polar lights funny car. As always thanks for looking ?, Mike
  18. Thanks John, I agree with you always buy decals when you see them I feel like have more decals then I’ll have time to use . Which is not a bad thing
  19. I started out with a set of slixx decals and a resin barracuda body from joe at freemont resins . I used the chassis for the amt 1966 mustang funny car and pulled the hemi from my vast supply of spare parts. The wheels are also parts box items. I made the injector stacks for aluminum tubing and covered the body with testors red white and blue. I fabricated the roll cage form .080 plastic rod In my opinion this night time cover shot burning through the rosin is the best ever super stock cover. Until next time thanks for looking ?’ Mike
  20. I used the amt kit for most of everything, the wheels came from revell’s thunderbolt, the slicks are amt the headers are custom made to fit the chassis. I have lost count of how many times I glued my fingers to the body attaching all the side trim and trim for the vinyl top. I painted it tamyia dark blue which almost looks black which I believe was the original color of the car . The decals are old Billy gooche. This was a complicated build getting the body’s trim right and sanded around. Until next time thanks for looking ?, Mike
  21. It looks awesome . The wedge from the lindburg color me gone kit would be a good fit it has good set of headers
  22. Thanks I’ll be posting quite a few this month
  23. This car represents the early days of pro stock or heads up super stock. The mpc kit has just about everything you need I added the correct wheels, and made up a set of headers out of solder and aluminum tubing I also added side windows which I cut from clear plastic sheet. I covered the body in testors purple lacquer with wet look clear. The decals are from smp. This mpc kit is a all time great , and builds up real fast and easy it’s not overly detailed like the modern tooling of today’s new kits . I’ve built quite a few of them into super stockers and they all look great on my shelf. Until next time thanks for looking ?, Mike
