  1. This is another one of my amt Z-11 kit bash projects. This one is finished with testors white enamel topped with smp decals. Thanks for checking it out, mike
  2. This is a box stock revell kit with the front end raised and headers from amt’s 65 chevelle wagon. When I built this I didn’t have a good reference photo, and I totally missed the color choice as I used a light ivory instead of a light yellow. Unfortunately the decals were sourced from mcw resins which I believe are no longer available. Overall this is a really nice building kit that makes a convincing super stocker. Thanks for checking it out, mike
  3. This is a kit bash of the amt 1962 belair body, and some interior parts .Along the the revell soft seal 1957 Chevy pro mod . The paint is testors enamel with decals by slixx. I also used some 3-d printed wheels that I found on eBay. I had to cut the chassis plate apart to lengthen the wheel base , and there was a lot of trimming and filing to get it all to fit. This project was on my work bench way to long it’s definitely not my favorite era of drag cars to build. I really had to push through it. Overall it looks really good. Thanks for checking it out, mike
  4. Let me know what shade / brand of blue you decide on . I have the same body and decals, but I can’t decide on the color blue as every photo looks like a different shade.
  5. These johan funny cars are very accurate replicas, and yours looks great. I like the metallic blue paint
  6. This is a box stock mpc grumpy’s toy Vega with keystone classic wheels from the johan Sox & Martin kit. The yellow and black paint is by testors, and the main decals are from smp they went on nice with no fuss . Other small decals are slixx , and from the kit . Although simplified this kit builds into a great looking pro stock , and is very enjoyable to build. The stance is just right. Until next time thanks for looking ?, Mike
  7. I always look forward to seeing the fantastic paint detailing on all of your builds. Another one well done ?
  8. Nice job on one of my favorite classic amt kits
  9. Thanks Dave the more oddball the better
  10. This is for Jeff , and all other gremlin x fans . The latter version and the earlier version were built around 10 years apart. The latter version is mostly out of the box, but with the wheels coming from the double dragster kit. The decals on the latter version are a mix of penguin and slixx. Paint by testors. Thanks for looking ?, Mike
  11. I built this from a Jimmie Flintstone resin body combined with the amt gremlin kit. The amt 1955 Chevy sedan gave me the wheels. Paint by testors decals are slixx. The super stock cover looks so awesome. There’s nothing cooler than a night photo of a door slammer burning through the rosin.
  12. John, I don’t know if you can still get them or find a set on line somewhere, but modelhaus made the Howard’s wheels
  13. Look up smhracing.com they have the right body and decals for your project the decals and by yester year they make a nice product and they ship fast I usually get my stuff in 3 days or so
  14. This is another quick lindburg build project . All box stock with smp decals. Just be careful when using these decals as they are more fragile than kit supplied decals.
  15. Hi John, l think the TH400 was also the transmission of choice for DickJessie’s MR.Unswitchable and Arnie Beswick’s mystery tornado super charged gto
  16. Very cool build idea well executed. Not enough people build early 60’s mopars . As for the name. Jean knight had a big hit with mr . Big stuff
  17. John, I hope you’re doing well as are health is paramount I’ve had some issues myself , made major dietary changes so I can stay healthy and away from doctors, and pharmaceuticals . Your build looks great I’ve never had any issues with the tamyia putty I usuals make spreaders out of sheet styrene. This will cut down on how much sanding you need to do. There were 2 versions of the car as the first one was rolled in a match race with the ramchargers at Detroit drag way . I think the car craft article might be on the rebuild car . At this time they switched from the Howards wheels to crager s/s . The rebuild car also had gold bumpers I sure wish I’d moved the front wheels on the one I built forward . I’ll be following along with you. Mike
  18. Hi John, I used the amt 66 Chevy 2 front frame rails and just made some bracing up with 0.080 plastic rod .while this might not be 100% accurate I built most of this car long before the internet so I just made what I thought looked right it originally had Fred cady decals as the slixx one’s went out yet. When I finally got around to finishing it some thirty years later I stripped them off and used the slixx ones.As far as sacrificing a moebius kit just for the front clip I would save the money. I used the front leaf springs from amt’s 33 Willy’s kit I used aluminum tubing and a leftover amt metal axle. You could also make the springs from metal strips cut to length and superglued together . I brought a thin square piece of steel at my lhs and cut it into strips with a tin snips. I took some close up pictures that might help. I cut the chassis right behind the front rear spring perches to move the rear wheel wells forward. The headers I used are actually hemi parts from revell’s dart or charger. I hope this helps you out if you have any other questions just let me know I’m always happy to help out a modeler. You always do a great job with nice detail work my friend. Mike
  19. Looks great love the Firestone pie crusts
  20. Looks great jungle was the man
  21. I got to meet clean ronnie when he was racing that pro mod 64 comet which I would love to build a model of. He was a really nice guy always a clean act
  22. The drive shaft got short when I had to cut the chassis in half to lengthen the wheel base. I just haven’t gotten around to fixing it. As for the oil pan the engine is just thrown together from junk parts as it’s just a curbside build. Thanks for the good words, Mike
