  1. This is a nice easy pro stock build. Start with a amt Baldwin motion 1970 camaro kit. Add a grump lump, slicks, front wheels are amt’s 1955 Chevy. The tunnel ram is from amt’s old pro nova. Paint by testors, one shot lacquer decals by slim. All the rest is in the box. These early Baldwin Motion cars were pretty close to being pro stocker’s right out of the dealership. Thanks for looking , mike
  2. Yea I tend to agree I think it had a blue cove and blue lettering . somewhere I either have or have seen a color pitcher. I’ll have to try to remember where.
  3. That’s a sharp looking cougar.I really like the paint color I’ve got to try some of that
  4. Good looking mopar nice paint color.
  5. A great creative build I love it. the color, interior, and hemi with that carb cover looks spot on. These early dragsters are fun to piece together.
  6. That came out crazy good I’ve been wanting to build this one myself. Very well done.
  7. Looks real good. I think they only ran this car in early 1962 through the nationals then it was stripped of its lettering and sold.
  8. Fantastic I love these simple old altered’s a great use for that body
  9. This little I stocker started life as a 40%off hobby lobby kit that I pirated the spun aluminum wheel, and hood scoop out of it for a pro stock build. Which left me with enough parts to build this neat little stocker. I think it really looks boss with the fender well headers. the steel wheels are left overs from the revell 32 5 window kit the slicks and front tires are amt Fred Caddy made the decals many years ago the dual quad intake, carbs, and air cleaner’s came from amt’s parts pack I made the headers from solder and aluminum tubing the grill is two pieces of piano wire the interior floor pan interfered with the transmission tunnel on the chassis, so I cut out the top of the tunnel then it all fit pretty good. You have to figure this kit was born from the nomad kit so a couple of fit issues aren’t to bad. All and all l think amt/ertl did a good job on it. thank’s for looking ?. Mike
  10. Great job on the rattle can fade. I’ve done a few of these fade paint jobs they sure are hard to get even. I really like the color combo.
  11. Yes, I know it’s like the third awb chevelle post in a row, but they all have different wheel well relocations. This is my all time favorite Malcolm Durham car. For me the injected altered wheel base cars of the mid 60’s are where it’s at. Until the moebius Plymouth we’ve been on our own to build them. For this one I again started with the revell kit and stretched the rear wheel wells by cutting it in the middle leaving the back edge in the stock location, cutting a piece out ahead of the front edge, and moving the front edge forward. I filled in the gap between the wheel wells with sheet styrene and body filler. For this one I had to move the front wheel wells forward. I cut them out and moved them to the front bumper. I filled in the space behind them with sheet styrene and body filler. I then filed and sanded all the joints. The paint color is testors metallic blue enamel straight from the rattle can. decals are Fred caddy rear and front wheels are from the revell 64 thunder bolt I made the roll bar from.080 rod I used the kit long block with the manifold and timing cover from the amt 1963 corvette with aluminum tubing the headers are revell 1968 charger the front springs are parts box, the axle is aluminum tubing. The tie rod and drag link are mpc’s Ohio George mustang. the slicks are from the revell thunder bolt. The front tires are amt Firestone supremes. I just used the stock rear suspension I really like the stance of this car, and I’m very pleased with the result of how it displays - the hardest part of building these old cars is finding shades of spray paint. Thanks for looking, mike
  12. Yea the decals are by yesteryear I got mine from southern motors hobbies they also sell on eBay under seller name raceminded. I made the earlier version of the car the decals will also do the second version after it was crashed and rebuilt at a match race with the ramchargers at Detroit drag way. The rebuilt car road on crager ss mags which are easier to find. Thanks for the nice complement. You’ll have to check out another of my altered chevelle’s on my this week’s edition of building the covers. Thanks for looking mike
  13. Really nice . it’s tough to get the thickness right around the window opening’s right.I’ve got a soft spot for these old galaxies my first car is a 64 which I still have. They ride and drive so nice. Ford really got them right. I’ve been hopping that amt will reissue the 1960 kit I could use a dozen. It would be cool to have Phil Bonner decals for the 62&63 galaxies.
  14. Great job you nailed it all that suspension work looks really nice. I can’t wait for the amt fast back that’s due out. I’ll have to get a dozen.Fred cady also printed decals for this + gas Ronda, and Tasca.
  15. Looks great really nice job on that seat frame
  16. “WOW LOOKS REALLY SWEET” great job on the decals. You really captured the look.well done thanks for sharing.
  17. Looking real good I really like the aluminum plates on the floor. The small block Chevy looks like a good fit.?
  18. I like the color those blue streak slicks peeking out really make it. Oh yeah nice job on the head light covers.
  19. The revell thunder bolt chassis fits with only small modifications
  20. Looking good I always liked those early t/a’s
  21. Very cool ? combo with the truck and trailer
  22. Way cool my first glue kit was the amt 40 ford, but it never looked this good ?
  23. Welcome to building the covers volume 4. the main kit here is the revell 1965 chevelle.the body has the rear wheel well’s moved forward using the cut out piece for the filler behind the relocated wheel well. Then i cut the radius with my dremel tool to fit the slicks.after that I attached some styrene strips for the side trim. For the interior I cut t back seat out and filled that area in with sheet styrene.the roll bar came from revell’s hemi dart kit. Chassis modifications include cutting a strip out of the floor pan to move the rear axle forward.the rear end housing came from the revell ms.deal kit. I think the ladder bars are amt’s awb mustang.I made the front springs and axle from cut strips of sheet steel, and aluminum tubing.the front wheels are amt double dragster the back wheels were from my parts box. Both the slicks and front tires are amt.for the engine I used the kit long block with the complete blower assembly from amt’s 1963 corvette. The injector scoop is from a polar lights funny car.i made the headers from solder with a short piece of aluminum tubing for the collector. The red paint is tamyia.the decals are from freemont resin. the real car had a flip front end I just didn’t feel like doing the extra work to make that happen. The magazine has a great reference article. this was a real fun build, and looks great on the shelf.
  24. The paint is plain old testors competition orange, and testors white enamel straight from the rattle can with gloss coat.i will be posting some more awb 65 chevelle’s on my building the covers series in the upcoming Saturday’s. Thanks for the nice complements, and good luck with your build. mike
