This is built from the revell duster funny car kit . With the addition of the polar lights font wheels, and the excellent decals from chuck boener . I also moved engine forward and lowered the front of the body. sometime in the future I will add the chute. I’m really happy with the stance on this one As always thanks for looking ?, Mike

“BUILDING THE COVERS “ Vol #21 The 1941 Willy’s of Pork ZARTMAN
M W Elky replied to M W Elky's topic in Drag Racing
Hi David the amt Willy’s builds up real nice to, and it’s not to hard cut the hood from the fender’s then glue to the back half of the fenders that are molded to the body. I’ve done this with the pickup body and it came out really nice. If you look back several pages on these topics somewhere around February of this year. I posted one of my early building the covers with the silver dollar Willy’s pickup, and you can see how well it came out. Good luck building yours , and thanks for the nice complement, mike -
Awesome stance color wheels back drop headers and oh yeah everything thing else

Great job I like a good ol” kit bash. This old amt favorite offers so many possibilities

I finally got around to building one of these Chevy 2 gassers. I Had decals for about 14 years then I ended up putting the white overlay on the bottom instead of the top oh well a brain freeze I guess. I kit bashed this kit with the amt awb kit. They are scaled the same and all the parts I used interchanged just fine. I cut open the back window opening to match the earlier year’s Chevy 2 ‘s. I like the look of the injected big block better than the kits blown small block. I also used the amt kit’s traction bars, front axle, and rear wheels I picked the front wheels from my parts box. Thanks to moebius and amt for issuing these great kits at the same time. as always thanks for looking ? , mike

John thanks for sharing another great super stocker. I love the detailed afb carbs. Did you have a good color picture to match the shade of yellow? I built this car but with much lighter shade of yellow as I only had one grainy color photo to work with. Also my decals were from a different maker , and have different markings then yours. The ones I used were not as sharp with more pixels. I gotta agree this kit build’s up nice you do nice job with a strong attention to detail. Keep ‘em coming. Mike

Thanks for the nice complements guy’s

I built this mostly from the fantastic revell 1941 Willy’s gasser kit with these few exceptions the rear wheels are resin cast the small block Chevy heads , valve covers, injection parts were sourced from the amt 55 nomad. I made the injector tubes from aluminum tubing. The headers are from Amt’s parts pack. The engine block , and transmission are the hemi parts that came with the Willy’s kit .Paint is by tamyia. The decals are from slixx. These revell willys kits build up really nice, and with a lot of different aftermarket decals available for them. as always thanks for looking , Mike

Great looking Elcamino! I’ve been wanting to build one with a blower and jungle Jim decals or bright yellow Pisano & matsubara decals oh the possibilities

I’ve had this resin Omni funny car body all painted, and decalel for quite sometime now. I always figured I would find a chassis to fit. Thankfully Atlantis reissued the Tom McCwen 1957 Chevy funny car. This kits chassis fit really well with only a few modifications . Which included moving the engine back, cutting a little off the front of the chassis, moving the front wheels back , and trimming the interior tin where it fits over the chassis. This kit is a very reasonably priced to use for a chassis donor. I think it looks pretty close to being period correct for a late 70’s to mid 80’s flopper thanks for looking, Mike

This is a funny car kit bash using Amt’s 1968 camaro for the body , and the Vega funny car for the rest of the parts. The paint is testors metallic red enamel, and the decals are from Fremont resin. You can see in the picture where I lengthened the chassis with aluminum tubing. The Vega interior fits the camaro body quite well. thanks for looking, mike

Great inspiration and a nice clean build. I really dig the color

This is what I made out of the good old amt 1963 corvette kit. It’s mostly out of the box with the addition of the injector stacks, and the mr. Bardel hood scoop. Which is sourced from comp. Resin through slixx. The decals are from yesteryear. This is a fun quick build. thanks for looking, mike

Looks great sweet paint job. You’ve inspired me to finish the one I’m working on

Wow I never would have thought to build a gasser out of that. Fantastic job .

I love the before and after shots any one can restore one, but it takes a real man to cut one up. Well done ?

This build started with a painted resin body with decals from joe at Fremont resins. I finished it with parts from the following kits: glass , interior , and the back half of the chassis from amt’s 66 mustang funny car the front half of the chassis is from a polar lights funny car along with the front wheels the engine is the hemi from the amt double dragster kit the slicks are amt blue streaks the rear wheels are amt from my spare box this issue of drag racing has good reference photos As always thanks for checking it out, mike
