I fully agree with you the smp quality has a lot to be desired I find them very fragile. I also have to watch with a waxed finish as I’ve had them curl up and fall off. Boy is that fun to go back and fix. Thanks for the nice words.

This is a box stock lindburg kit covered with testors red enamel and smp decals. Thanks for looking ?, Mike

I built this as a curbside ( no opening hood ) the 3-d printed body had a hard plastic so I didn’t want to mess with cutting the hood out. The whole interior , chassis , and wheels / tires from grumpy’ s Vega . I made all the windows from 0.10 clear stock . The paint is testors. Decals are from various slixx sheets . I made the window net from a window screen repair kit. This was so simple and fun to create, and it looks great on the shelf. Until next time thanks for looking ?, Mike

Thanks for the nice complement. I really like building these Z-11 kit bashes ,and I have decals to build about four more . I find the amt kits to have better body proportions than the revell kits. I do like there 62 impala and I’ve built quite a few into super stockers I’ll have to post some of them soon. This winter/spring I’ve been building mostly gassers and pro stocks. I was able to find the time to get six awb 65 Plymouths painted . However I’ll be so busy this summer I won’t have to much assembly time. -
Looks good I like the color it’s got me inspired to build the jungle Jim pro stock
-
Very cool very inspiring. I would like to build a Dyno don version someday. The Grump said that no one worked harder than Bob gladden.
-
Nice work it looks really sharp

This is a box stock revell kit with the addition of amt’s m&h slicks crager front wheels and chrome reverse rear wheels. The decals are made by Chris Walsh
-
Scott it looks great did you build this from the original kit or did you modify the new issue convertible kit?
-
Another amt Z-11 conversion of mine by combining the 63 impala and the 62 super stock bel air kits. As I described in the platt brothers build. I have never seen color pitcher of this car, but I read that it was blue. So I guessed testors arctic blue would be a close match. The decals are available from smp decals. The big hurst decals can be found on amt’s 56 ford Victoria. As always thanks for looking ?, Mike

A 64 chevelle would be a great hit it out of the park curbside plus topic for round 2 . Of course you would need a 62 bel air super stock for the Z-11 parts, slicks, wheels etc. -
Dyno is one of my all time favorites I even got to meet him he was such a nice guy. He makes a great role model. A smart hard working all around good man someone we should all inspire to be. Your build looks amazing with fantastic paint details everywhere especially in the interior, and engine compartment. Small details like the chrome on the seats to the wing nut on the air cleaner really make the difference. The more you look the more you see just to manny details to list .Keep up the great work I enjoy seeing your builds. Mike

Thanks Jeff I actually built these two about 10 years apart. I would really like to see slixx or someone make more platt decals especially Huston’s Dixie twisters -
It looks to me like smp took over decals by Lucas as they have a lot of the same stuff, and same quality

These Z-11 conversions were done by combining amt’s 1963 impala and the very well done 1962 super stock bel air kits . While you can’t really see it in the pictures I cut the console out of the 63’s interior tub , and replaced it with the transmission tunnel that I cut from the bel air along with the bench seat , shifter and tach. I use the chassis with the raised front suspension, and cut down rear coil springs . Use the bel air’s 409 with the optional Z-11 parts. The fender wells were cut from the bel air’s body and glued to the chassis along with the radiator support, and firewall. Hubert’s car is painted in testors metallic blue enamel with Fred Cady decals . Huston’s car is testors white enamel with smp decals . I’ve done quite a few of these Z-11 conversions and they’re such a joy to build . As always thanks for looking ?, Mike

This was built from the revell black widow kit with the addition of crager ss wheels and slicks from amt. decals are smp , I made the headers from solder and aluminum tubing. As always thanks for looking ?, Mike

That heavy metal flake paint is just amazing.
-
Looks great you do a fantastic job getting these bodies to fit down on these revell pro / mod and pro / stock chassis. All are very well done ?
-
This looks really nice great stance. Nice job on the colors . I hope that my revell kit comes out this good.
-
This is some really nice paint detailing under the hood on the wheels and on the chassis. With a little work mostly on the stance and header fabrication these revell kits can make convincing super stocks . MCW used to make Dyno don , house of speed , golden rod, Dick harrell , and Dave strickler decals. Chris Walsh makes ones for the Ronnie evans car, and smp also makes a few others.
-
Chris I got the bill stiles decals from Chris Walsh his email is pittss1t@yahoo.com He also has the ones for the Reid Whisnant car . I hope this helps you out, mike
-
Scott it’s so cool to build a hard to find kit like this one let alone alter it to . Very impressive. You can never go wrong with the Sox & Martin red white and blue.
-
This is a mix of the two moebius kits with the fuel injection from amt’s 63 corvette, headers from the amt jimmy , and steel wheels from my parts box. The decals are from smp. They have a tendency to be a little fragile so use caution when applying them. Also I found the fit between the two moebius kits are a little different so be sure to test fit everything before you apply glue. I cut the back window opening bigger and made the new back window from clear .010 sheet stock to better replicate the earlier year Chevy 2 he used. I think it came out good and it looks really sweet next my Dyno don Chevy 2 wagon that I built last year. As always thanks for looking ? , Mike

This looks really well executed with the twin turbos . I’ve been really enjoying all these pro mod / pro street builds you’ve been posting. Really nice work.

This is so cool you have shown great skills. I’m a huge ramchargers fan and can’t wait to see it finished. Thanks for giving this one a try
