  1. Happy Birthday to all of my Marine buddies! Kinda funny, I was in the Army, my three closest friends……2 Marines and an Air Force retiree.
  2. For me it’s the peace and quiet, no tv, no music…..nothing while I work on a kit. It’s also the challenge to build that perfect model. I don’t know the I have ever achieved that goal, but I know that I’ll keep on trying.
  3. My blood pressure is irking me. I’ve taken b/p meds for years, but for some reason it’s up. Mind you it’s not stroke level high, it’s just high. Now I have to do a b/p log for two weeks plus my beautiful wife is a nurse and watching everything I eat.
  4. Ironman! He was always one of my favorites.
  5. I like it. To me, it looks like a race car that ended up behind a garage. Maybe a blown motor that they couldn’t afford to replace. Maybe they just lost interest. Maybe a little of both. Great build.
  6. I’ve never had it, but my oldest son has and he loves it. He’s been to Skyline in Cincinnati several times.
  7. Y’all are probably going to laugh, but I had two chili dogs and some homemade potato salad for dinner last night. Even after my MD told me to ease up on processed meat yesterday. I guess from going to stock car races, drag races, football and baseball games all my life, I love good hot dogs. Edit; the Coney Island chili was homemade too. My beautiful wife has an excellent recipe.
  8. I try to not dwell on my hardest job/career. To many bad memories take me places that I don’t enjoy. It wasn’t all bad, the some of the bad was really bad. Best job, that’s easy. My other hobby is bass fishing. After I retired from law enforcement, I took some time off. Applied and got hired at Bass Pro Shops. Worked up from part time to a supervisor in the fishing department. As with everything , the pay could have been better but Bass Pro Shop was the best job I’ve ever had. Excellent upper management staff, great company , low stress, great work environment and they really treat their employees well. I’ve also delivered auto parts for a mom and pop parts store. That too was a great job but nothing like BPS.
  9. A little off topic, but can you just imagine how hot those guys got inside the 1:1 race cars with all the windows closed!
