  1. Really like this build, great job
  2. Great looking wrecker, nicely done
  3. Thanks Roger, the https://stinkjones.blogspot.com/2019/01/detroit-diesel-8v92-performance-parts.html has some great pictures, did not know about that site.
  4. Cool idea build, looking forward to see that motor build.
  5. Just seen a real one of these at the old engine show this summer. It was located in the barn with antique snowmobiles ( northern Michigan thing)
  6. chromed the modified steps on the battery boxes. Homemade fuel tanks coming along, diesel fuel caps made and chromed. Got to finish homemade fuel tanks, chrome the straps, details the mounts. May mount the battery boxes in a further back position to enter cab then no steps would be needed on fuel tanks. Lastly, I am trying to find detailing information on the Detroit 8v92, been all over the internet but struggling for some really good pics. On the internet it appears this motor came in a number of different colors from light green to a mid green to red to gray. Assuming green was the truck motor color. Appreciate any ideas.
  7. True Steve and this kit needs some attention, locating pins on front springs are gone and holes in frame are flashed over, just to acknowledge one of many issues.
  8. chassis painted, tire/wheels together
  9. Thanks Brian and Steve, good info. In my younger days I learned to drive a GMC cracker box hauling grain in a hopper box then on to better trucks. But I never did any mechanical work.
  10. Then I wonder, could I use the dual chambers s-cam on an older year model truck to replicate a heavy duty brake system? Directly mounting dual chambers to backing plate. Assuming dual chambers where used on a heavy truck and single chambers used on light duty truck. If this is true, then about what year would the manufacturers stoped using this setup?
  11. Outstanding build, the detail is top notch. Ya got some serious skills
  12. Love this post. One thing I am noticing is the model air chambers appear to be small in scale compared to real life or are there multiple sizes of air chambers? Thanks Ace for the diagram, copied to my photos
  13. Outstanding job detailing that motor
  14. hopefully this will be a simple build with minor detailing. Frame together and a quick mock up. I did switch to a wider rim/tire combo on the front to fill up those big fenders. Plan is To build as day cab and the frame length lends it self for a nice flatbed build There have been a few issues with this kit but all workable but the fuel tank just would not clean up well. Decided to build my own tanks, see how this goes. Quick mock up to see if homemade tanks, battery box and AIM tool box will fit. Doing a flat bed that I will scratch build (bed in picture is mock-up only) with a headache rack of some sort.
  15. Outstanding build
  16. You are going to need to create trucking divisions in your Super Bee fleet. ?
