  1. Greg, very nice work. You did a fine job on the conversion. I have quite a few police cars in a variety of scales.
  2. I don't blame you for leaving it, Howard. It looks great just as it is. It's funny, I have 4 or 5 NOS 62 Plymouths but have not built one since I was a kid and I have a real one in the garage.
  3. Thanks, I love Imperials too. I have a few more to build when I get around to it.
  4. Thanks Ken, Doyle, and Tom. I'll be posting more soon.
  5. I appreciate your comments David and Gerald. Thank you Mario. As you know, I build mostly early original issue kits. I do a lot of restorations but use NOS kits from my stash when necessary (like the 59 Olds I'm building). I have 4-500 NOS unbuilt kits and also enjoy opening one once in a while just to look it over and enjoy the memories.
  6. Steven, I've seen this one before and it is absolutely beautiful-colors, paint, trim, interior-everything. Your photos are great too. I never tire of seeing models like this.
  7. Very nice, Bill. I like these old woodies. When the price is right I don't mind cleaning and replacing a few parts. I've bought many that look far worse than this one.
  8. Mario, I love Comets and this one turned out fantastic! The color and details are great and I like the poverty hubcaps.
  9. Really nice looking custom, Paul. I love that front end!
  10. Thanks for your kind comment. Thank you I appreciate your comment
  11. I finished this one about a week ago. I'm not totally happy with how it turned out but at least I didn't have to build my NOS one (see photo). The body required a lot of sanding and the trim on these wasn't too crisp or smooth even on a new unbuilt one. I touched up the chrome with Molotow ink and used Bare Metal Foil on the trim. This model fought me hard on the foiling with the trim not being too crisp, and especially on adding all the black accents. The AMT 62 Imperials, by the way, are a pleasure to foil and add the accents to. The paint on this one is Dark Bronze Metallic and the interior is burgundy and white. I kept the original whitewall decals on the tires, doing a little touchup. I really like 4 door cars and have many, built and unbuilt. Thanks for taking your time to look and I appreciate all comments and questions. I've really been blown away by all the kind comments I've received on the models I've posted before. I just started foiling my 60 Edsel yesterday so it will be coming along before too long. --Rich
  12. Chuck, I just saw this today. It looks so real in your photos and not absurd at all. It really looks like something someone might have pieced together back in the day using what they had available. The detailing is great. I build mostly factory stock but would be proud to have this model on my shelf.
  13. Chang thanks very much, I appreciate your comments.
  14. Thank you Carl and David. Your comments are appreciated.
  15. Very nice work! It looks just like a car you would have seen at the grocery store back in the day-until you open the hood and look closer. I really like it.
  16. John, I appreciate your advice but as I mentioned in the description, I did widen the track. Compared to your photo, mine looks just about the same as yours. Most, if not all of the early Johan kits needed the track widened. I also added wheel wells to the chassis on the 59's and 60's that I've built. Your 62 looks great. Here's a photo of the 59 I have in progress. I already widened the track. It's painted the correct Golden Mist Metallic. -Rich
  17. Craig, thanks for the photos. You are right about the Slim Jim trannys but mine has had no problems yet. But I did have to get a rebuilt one for the 63 I had as a teenager.
